Don't know about that Jim. With the season we've had so far, I reckon at least one of the teams finishing the minor round 5-8 will play in a prelim.

Could franklin be the first person since Lockett to win the Coleman and brownlow?

Port/Freo could make a Prelim.
North, Essendon and whoever else makes it zero chance.
At the end of the day North and Essendon are fairly ordinary sides

North or Ess will be playing either the Hawks or Cats week 2 of the finals for a spot in the prelim.
All the pressure will be on the team possibly going out in straight sets.

True but both of us cant string two good quarters together ATM let alone two good games. I honestly cant see either of us troubling Geelong or Hawthorn, we are not that good

I agree with Jim a bit. Even if We make the finals, we will just be making up the numbers. Essendon and North on there day go alright but I don't think they are capable of toppling the top few sides.

I never mentioned Thomas. I could well of been referring to other perennial floppers like Monfries (self confessed) & Cornes. ;)

Haha...bullshit, it was terrible. Bartel has enough credits in the bank for us to forgive and forget that one, the likes of Thomas doesn't, he's not good enough to overlook the stuff he does.

Jimmy would be red faced at this mornings match review down at the Cattery. The boys would be giving it to him for sure.

Speaking of dives, why doesn't Ballantine's name ever get brought up? Runs at an opponent at a stoppage, opponent stands his ground and HB does down like he's been shot clearly trying to win a free kick from minimal contact that he's initiated.

I dont mind the bloke as a footballer, but if people are going to point out divers he should probably be top of the list.

I have absolutely no idea how players manage to dive with such apparent ease :? One of the first things I learnt as a junior was to keep your feet and be strong in a contest, I've had times where i've been pushed hard in the back but still cant bring myself or rather refuse to fall over :? I think it's just natural instinct.

If someone walked up to you in the street and pushed you I would be very suprised if you fell over, i'm sure 9/10 people would stagger and try to remain on their feet.

Really like Port's chances this week to snaffle 4th spot. Open spaces at Subi will suit our running game and so does Fremantle's desire to have all players around the ball.

If you can break from a stoppage against them and avoid Johnson at half back, you can score.

Easier said than done though....

While i'm whinging, why is it everytime there is a collision or injury in AFL the commentators feel the need to harp on all game about the courage shown by that player?!

Take Murphy for example Friday night.. such courage shown by the lad.. for what?! Standing there waiting to mark the ball and then being cleaned up? What other option did he have from a poor kick? Most times the kick is ok, he marks and away they go.

I agree with this too. There wasn't really "courage" in that contest. It was a poor kick, Murphy had to dive to his left and he was made to earn the mark by the Port opponent and unfortunately whacked his head on the turf....Courage is your Jonathon Brown types going back with the flight of the ball and getting smashed in the contes
