Didnt partake in the drugs did he?? Wont play under Turd would be my guess, I would also say he can get out of his contract fairly easy so if i was Essendon I would take the Luenberger deal and run

Did partake in the program and had injections, he received a SC notice.
Has reportedly received a big multi year contract from a club.
All may turn out to be nothing as his manager is Connors who has a reputation of causing trouble to rise up his clients price.
Gets on very well with Hird but his best mate is Jetta and Paddy has complained several times this year to Bomber about him not being picked.
Not playing like someone who wants outs though.
There obviously still is a clause where players can walk due to the drug saga so we will have to wait and see.
No secret that he has been the most vocal regarding the drug saga and there was talk of him using the escape clause last year but he wanted to stay on. Would say he would only use the clause to get out if the club tried to play hardball which they wont. Think both clubs will try to negotiate a good outcome

He looks gone. Just red that essendon has broken a clause in his contract which could lead to him to being a delisted free agent.

Would go into the draft and Melbourne have 2 picks before Brisbane. As I said I reckon both parties will come to a deal

Bit of media beat up.
This clause was explained to the players at the end of last season by the AFLPA. Players at end of last season had the option to walk but none did, now all of a sudden a 5 year deal is put on the table with more coin and he wants to walk, sounds suss. In career best form and his attitude around the club has been fantastic this year.
Timing has been poor though as he spoke to Essendon about 8 weeks ago and declared interest to go to Brisbane yet the media wait until 3 days before a final to release it

If he is a free agent he doesn't have to go into the draft

Not sure, heard it mentioned on radio that he would be a delisted free agent and other clubs could bid for him so I assumed he would go into the draft

I know he wants to head noth but he would be a pefect fit for Port, ease the pressure of Westhoff/Trengove trying to ruck and would create a pretty potent forward line with Schulz & Westhoff.

Bombers hold no aces, they will lose him and get nothing in return. This is what happens when you fill kids with needles, try to get out on technicalities then bring back the very coach who instigated it all.

They want to keep Ryder, sack Hird, appoint Thompson, a win for everyone....
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

Under free agent rules, he can go anywhere if he is delisted, no longer a requirement to go be drafted.

I understand your views but one thing everyone forgets is Bomber was in the program up to his eyeballs aswell.
Bomber seems to have avoided the flak that Hird has but the truth is the only reason he wasnt suspended instead of fined was that he was not in charge. Bomber knew exactly what was going on and was responsible for bringing the Weapon to the club and also had no issue with Dank joining at the time

Yep- Port must do everything in their power to snare this one. Would be a massive pick up for us.

I thought that was the case. I guess Brisbane could be on the cards as they would have good cap space.

I think Paddy has indicated he would like a move up north, but its not the first time a player has suggested a move and went elsewhere. Mitch Clark for one.

Tippett, Franklin.......

Sydney could use a ruckmen like Ryder. I mean Pyke is ok, but just ok. ;) Jokes all, please put away the torches..

Has a young child and partner wants to move home to Brisbane where her family is.
Would be open to Brisbane or GC but would imagine the Lions have loads more cap room. If he is after an increase on what he is on now id imagine they would need to have a fair bit of cap room

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.
