Has anyone driven from Sydney to Newcastle? We're looking into visiting family, but I dont really want to get the train up there with our luggage.

Hiring a car works out cheap as well.

Just wondering how easy it is to follow directions there? And roughly how long it takes. I dont trust Google maps trip time estimations

My little bro was living there too until 2 weeks ago.

He says the drive is pretty easy and cruisy - and the train is annoying because it's not express and stops everywhere.

Driving takes around 2 -2 1/2 hours, depending on traffic and whether you avoid the tolls to get onto the Pacific Motorway.

I don't blame you for not trusting google maps, I think the yanks base it on doing about 70kph :lol:

Cool. Yeah the missus's brother lives there, so we're thinking about going up and surprising him coz he went up there for uni and doesnt know anyone.

I enjoy driving too, so 2 hours should go pretty quickly. Might even drive over the bridge and shit, just to say I have. ;)

i didnt realise the Raa was that influential :lol:

Well FC could write an article in the next edition of the members magazine alerting them to the fact that the travel times given could not be very accurate ;)
