That's why they call him "chip", junior spud.

Is a hack IMO

His value comes from being able to play both ends of the ground. In saying that, he is not worth the price tag IMO

Lake yes, Burgoyne certainly, McEvoy yes, Gunston yes and Hale yes.

Frawley I just don't think his worth the reported price. You'll get more out of Spanger.

Totally agree with you. Hopefully we have only paid around the 4-450 mark and he has taken the smaller pay packet to play in a premiership rather than go to Geelong or Freo. He might spend a year at Box Hill until Brian retires

They are not going to pay 500k a year for him to 'spend' a year with Box Hill

What does your list of previous Hawks recruiting say about their judgement of what type of player they need?

It says to me of they think they need him, they need him.

Nobody thought Spangher would have been such a success, nor Ceglar.
I'm not too quick on rating a club's decision on trading for a player - it's not what they are when they come to the club that counts, it's the result that the club gets from the player. The Hawks have a good history of getting blokes to fulfill the roles they need (and often at critical times - remember Stuey Dew?).

Always rated Frawley in his earlier years, but the last couple he's dropped off ... If he can recapture his best form in a newer, more successful environment he'll be a good pickup.

Agreed JK. You can hardly blame a player for not developing as hoped while at Melbourne. I think Frawley had a bright future. Maybe not exactly worth what he'll be paid but that's the nature of players moving clubs these days

Not convinced we need Waite but now we have him it will be a massive battle to grab a forward line spot, Brown, Petrie, Waite, Black, Tarrant, Wood can't all fit, maybe one of them is destined to head to the backlines to assist out need for talls down there.

Good to see the Roos finally spending 100% of the cap, reckon it hasnt happened at all in the last 20 years!

Can;t see he would be getting huge $ at the Hawks, in fact Im sure Melbourne could have paid much more for him, unless his contract is back ended after Lake, Hodge,Mitchell retire in a few years and it frees up space.

What does surprise me is that Hawks love guys that can hit targets with their foot, that isn't one of his strengths.

Frawley and Danger to Hawthorn? Two blokes that can't hit a target playing for a team that regularly dissects teams with Foot skills. Can only be good for the game. ;)

Waite good riddance you're a disgrace !!! Carlton could have and should have traded you 3 or 4 years ago but because yr old man played there they stayed loyal ( plus the 5 good games you played inbetween being injured or reported ) ....... Shame at 31 you could never repay that to the club and supporters.
