Speaking of Woolies (ALH) I've been told to never eat a meal at The Espy at Brighton.

The only two I have recentish experience with are the Hendon Hotel and Findon Hotel.

Hendon - Very basic, but also very cheap, so hard to complain
Findon - Overrated. Food "OK" and not terrible, but nothing special either. Have eaten at this pub regularly over the last couple of decades though and the quality of their meals does fluctuate, hopefully they can get it back (or already have it back) to previously high standards.

Did you eat in the bar/bistro area or the RSL type restaurant area?

I've always had really good meals in the former but ate in the later once & once only...

Used to be good (pre AHL days)

Late 90s Fri nite used to be steak night, $5 rump steak cooked, not to perfection but pretty damn close!

Missus used to live around the corner so we would frequent it regularly along with The Beach Pitt (hamburger joint at the top end of the Jetty Rd Brighton shopping strip).

Good times but yeah wasn't impressed with the restaurant section the last time we went post AHL takeover.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Noodle Box at the Bay

Used a shop a docket voucher so it was $30 for 2 mains, 2 drinks and a shared entrée.

Meal was alright, scenery was spectacular.
