Rare occasions he got forward and was always creative. Could be elusive and defensive.

Gee wiz there is a fair bit of carry regarding the great work Bernard did on danger.

I saw footage today and danger got a little bump several times but carried on like he got hit by a semi trailer

it was pretty hard to see without being there. a lot of niggle all day. two of three scuffles with 10 or so people, all because of bernie's treatment.

Because its the precious Danger... how dare he be "roughed up"...?

Im enjoying reading the Crows fans indignation that some one would dare be mean to him...

You would think he was king hit everytime he went near BV.

They will be all saying how overrated "Danger" is after he leaves at the end of the year...

interesting article by Robbo.

it certainly curtailed Danger on saturday. I think the umpires should probably take more notice of it. Pull a couple of frees out early and it would stop a lot of it.

because holding and scragging is against the rules. now its for the players to push that as far as they can, it is up for the umpires to adjudicate. There were a few times where the umpires should have adjudicated against vince but thats the umpires fault not vince.

I rated the game Vince played on the weekend.

Two of the better games I've seen Vince play is when he has been heavily involved in the rough and tumble. One, in 2008 in a Showdown when Daniel Motlop ran through him. He was more on the receiving end that day but won the Showdown Medal. And on Saturday.

For me Dangerfield is a good target for this style of play. Danger, although intimidating in his attack on the ball, doesn't seem intimidating as a person. I think we will see more of this going forward. Not a Crowley style niggle, but more picking his moments to put some heavy hits on. Its a fine line for Bern though, get the head once and there will be trouble.

Thought it added real spice to the contest.

Imagine if he carried on like Adam Goodes.

not even close... a few dives towards the end of his career don't add up to the "look at me" attitude danger has... And when danger accomplish maybe half of what goodes has than maybe he could do that...

Benny, I agree that the players went to his aid and flew the flag but there needed to be some protection from Vince. Guys getting the way blocking and a bit of bash and crash around the ball.

Ironically Vince was in a similar position when he was at the crows and needed assistance from some older bodies.

Actually I thought the players eventually intervened, but not properly until the 3/4 time break .. They had opportunities to come in to bat for him as early as the first quarter and didn't look to me to get onto it soon enough.

I only watched the game on TV, maybe needed to be at the ground to get a bigger picture.

I was there, and i think the other crows did a decent job. tbh i think you can always "do more" in these circumstances.

i like walsh's comments in the presser - he said the crows did well not to lose focus, which for the most part was true, besides maybe at 3 qtr time.

Yep that's a fair call too, and Walsh seems to be a supporter of taking the emotion out of things and focussing on sticking to processes in order to have the best chance at winning. Hard to argue with him too.
