Salisbury West and Central United b grade played last year and obviously had strong sides but they have been promoted

Angle Vale b grade and Craigmore b grade drop back from 2 to 3 and to be honest they were very average more like c grade sides

Div 3 would be like the div 5-6 off old

You making a comeback mate??

Angle Vale's B's were half decent on their day, Craigmore's B's struggled big time.

The two times we met Angle Vale last year they had very average b grade sides with Ash Fry and Johnny Richardson there only div2 standard bats (I think towards the end Richos brother played abit) and bowling wise they had an attack that was c grade at best.

If that's there side this season I think they would be a 2-4 placed div 3 side

How will Smithfield go getting sides this year, while they had a few young lads they did seem very reliant on the 'old boys' playing to fill the sides

Believe Enfield will be looking at possibly entering a side into the 2 day comp as well as the 1 day comp this year as well.

Good from what I'm hearing, mind you their B's could've beaten their A's most weeks.

Yeah tricky situation, you don't want to lose players by making them play in a side they don't want to but having your b's better than your a's is an issue for obvious reasons

Personally I would prefer the one day comp be turned into a 1 Day over 40's comp with each team allowed say 3 blokes between 30-40 years old

I haven't put a heap of thought inot it though

Not much further than the Teachers.

All depends on C&CCA and how many divisions they have again this season though.

Ground I imagine would be at Thomas Turner Reserve.

Fair few clubs coming from that way now - Teachers, Adel Warriors, TTG, Redwood Park, Fitzroy

Unfortunately if we want the comp to survive I think we have to be open to these clubs coming into the comp

It's really not much different to travelling out to Wasleys or Two Wells as it is travelling to those more metro based clubs.

Think Enfield really enjoyed their 1st season in the 1 day comp last year, and most the clubs were based along Main North Rd anyway so travel time wasn't a big issue.

Yep the distance isn't a concern for me

One concern I do have is that the new clubs would have to undoubtedly follow our rules and standards we set

Have heard of teams in the churches leagues where players wear shorts and grey track pants etc

I don't ever want the PDCA to go down that path

Just a thought on following on from Lightnings t20 comp

Not only could it be a stand alone comp, rather than having teams in individual grades could we have some form of A Grade (FA Cup) style knockout comp.

Would give teams the thrill of taking on sides they may not have played I years, an element of giant killing for teams in lower divs wanting a crack at the big boys and then the excitement of the unknown from the draw

Don't think that's a concern that needs to be had - a club/side entering a comp should always follow that comps rules and standards. Enfield had no dramas with it last year, and looked in implement similar standards across all sides at the club.

As for the shorts/track pants, those are isolated incidents in the lower grades - I've been back in churches for 2 seasons now and haven't witnessed it happening, particularly in the higher grades and not from the bigger clubs either.

That's good to hear coz there is nothing more unprofessional/tacky looking than a quick steaming in with shorts on

You could also do the same thing for b grade sides so they have their own comp and if games matched up potentially double headers like we see in amatuer footy

B grade- 12-3.30
A grade- 4-7.30

It was somewhat political to begin with stemming from the captaincy and then just stuck through stubborness.

I've always been an advocate for an over 40/under 16 comp, a bit of a father/son competition, you'll get the old masters teaching the pups while they occupy the slips and the young'uns patrol the boundaries.

Yep that would be an awesome idea!!!!!!!!!

And great way to keep the older blokes playing and encourage and ease the younger blokes into senior cricket
