Will google it when I'm home as I'm out just about to play 5 a side

But you can be sure Arsenal spent well less then tottenums this summer just gone , as we didn't buy any out field players , only cech who was for 13 million

You spent every penny from the Gareth bale transfer which was 100 million one season I know that for sure .

But will Google it when I get home

Have you just started supporting Spurs? Spurs have spent a lot more than Arsenal in the market. and not just a few million more over a hundred million more

I'd say spending 155m more on player transfers is more embarrassing than player wages. It's probably why we finish above Spurs every year. Gotta pay the best. 8)

In this football you need to spend to get somewhere more so then most .

If you don't spend them you don't have much hope . You will struggle around mid to lower table .

It's not like the AFL with the salary cap bullshit they do . You can spend billions and not have to worry

Chelsea and man city are a perfect example of needed to spend big . Man city were a yo yo club before the billions came around . Chelsea were top half of the EPL but like tottenums , struggle to compete with the better sides

Totally agree with you Bully. Hopefully Spurs potential revenue from their new stadium will help bridge the gap so we can be even more competitive than we currently are, as said before though very happy where we're considering all things.
Could be Chelsea!:D

West ham are doing it next year so expect them to struggle

The percentage of club-trained players in Premier League squads has reached a new low, a study says.

Research by the CIES Football Observatory found 11.7% of top-flight players graduated from their club's academy, down from 13.8% last year.

Across 31 top European divisions the figure has dropped below 20% for the first time since figures began in 2009.

Clubs are "increasingly reluctant" to give chances to academy players, says study author Raffaele Poli.

A club-trained player has spent at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21 training with their current side.

The introduction of the Premier League's £320m elite player performance plan (EPPP) in 2012 was designed to try to improve the quality of young English players and increase their opportunities in first teams.

But an increase in the percentage of foreign players over the past three years means that many youngsters now need to transfer clubs or go out on loan before playing in the Premier League.

Tottenham however set the standard, they have the Premier League's largest percentage of club-trained players in their squad at 32%. Three Spurs players - striker Harry Kane, midfielder Ryan Mason and winger Andros Townsend - all went on loan before making their first-team breakthroughs and have since played for England.

As a Liverpool fan, we seem to have brought buggerall players through to the League team from our academy over the last decade or so, and very few that went on to become first team regulars. Given some of the kids were held in such high regard, it always bemused me as to why this was the case. IIRC it really started hitting home in the Benitez era, and followed on with all managers from there. Klopp seems to be showing some good intentions of giving the kids a chance, which is pleasing.

If you count players on loan to other clubs then Arsenal equal Spurs on this count.
There ya go Bully, unlike most Spurs fans I don't hate Arsenal ;)
