I actually do agree with this in theory.. similar to PDCA cricket - if a club has a mass exodus of players, and drops divisions, the players who left are not permitted back at that club for the same number of years as divisions dropped... e.g. Two Wells went from Grade 1 to Grade 5, and players weren't allowed to return for 4 seasons.

Probably a bit more difficult with footy given you really need large numbers to have a club and success and it's not easy recruiting... shouldn't really blame the current coach and players for their situation.

OUCH! Sound a little bitter there.. this is a bloke who was one of your best and most consistent A grade forwards last year.. now he's a waste of space?

Better hope you can hold onto Bain then or your forward line looks very weak..

Month later and Bain is goneski.. good riddance to bad rubbish or significant blow?

Good footballer but a pain in the arse off the field. Smithfield can deal with him now. But i did say a good footballer

Salisbury West, whatever the quality of the club, have been bound to the rule book. No ifs, no buts, no coconuts. They were duly demoted for last season. They didn't earn promotion for this season. No exceptions have been applied by the SAAFL. Thus, they are in the right div.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

So, as I suggested, although the rules have been followed (this year), this situation and like situations, have been very poorly administered. The rules are inadequate.

The players that left should have not been allowed to rejoin, it's common sense.

Not only does it protect the division from the joke it is now, but protects the club (which evidently needs protecting from itself), from tying itself back up with the pea heart players who put them in this mess.

It's a winless argument, you can't go and plonk them in div. 5 for instance and retard clubs that deserve to be there.

I do agree though that measures need to be in place to combat this, it makes Kilburn's year of pain seem even more ballsy and commendable.

the league seems to be 1 step behind everytime something goes wrong and a club folds or has a mass amount of players walk thats all they look at

maybe the league should look at other angles when a club gets into trouble prime example will be para hills next year will

if im para hills i would not look at coming into div 7 id rather go into C1-C3 as a C grade team recruit point players and try and get back a lot of the players they lost when folded

so start with 1 team only playing C grade pay players smash that div then the following year come into div 7 all current players will be 0 point players as they played C grade that year and bam recruit more point players and do a salisbury west and smash div 7

if all delegates agree now, cant the rule (players who left div 5 cant come back to div 7) be installed now; instant block? or put a cap on it only 3 players maximum

rather than SW pulverizing 8 other clubs in the div and screwing everyones season unfairly, the league or delegates put their foot down now, and prevent the inevitable, now

not really if they do it correctly they could recruit good in C1-C3 dominate that then recruit point players for div 7 dominate that do the same again for 6 then pay a bit more and get better quality for 5 provided they have the funds they could do a lot of damage over a 3 year period

'Short sighted douchebag line of thinking'.. Pot/Kettle Jetters

If you don't allow the up to 25-30 players that leave a club in this situation to return, how is a club meant to recruit players to field 2 teams and stay under the points system? if you take away the 0 point players' ability to return to a club to get it back on its feet, then you may as well just dust the club off entirely..

They are serving their time in div 7, if they recruit and work back to division 4/5 where they left, then how is that an issue? If they can work their way back good on them, if they don't, then they stay in div 7.. Salisbury West gave your C grade a spanking on the weekend, which to be honest most A grade sides should do to a C grade side. Good on your club for having the depth to be able to compete with most of the clubs in div 7 with your C grade, that's commendable, but why put unrealistic restrictions on a club that is trying to work its way back? Im sure you have bigger issues than what Salisbury West and other 'Div 6/7 douchebags' are doing anyway..

Exactly, your short sighted thinking is trying to squeeze through some loop holes to have success in the lowest possible grades, against C grade sides, with your paid players, then pay a bit more and maybe play against some A grades sides and do ok......

Exactly the line of thinking that puts clubs in this mess. Short sighted and unsustainable.

Plenty at an uneducated guess, there wouldn't be too many points soaked up as most are return players.
