pretty sure in regards to 11 game memberships the Crows top the list, if not this year maybe last year.

I think the 3 game memberships are great, I have work commitments at AUDI quote often during the season and also still play and coach junior footy so getting to all 11 would be near on impossible but a three game one would suit me perfectly.

Oh I wasn't suggesting the 3 game memberships are a bad thing, I think they are awesome. Just that it looks funny that WC have 50% more memberships than the stadium capacity.

But maybe membership revenue is a better comparison? I wonder if those stats are somewhere

There are plenty of non attendance memberships that count officially too. Interstate memberships, digital memberships and dare I say it pet memberships all count towards the stats.

The criteria is they cost at least $50.
740K of the memberships counted were attendance memberships.
134K were non attendance memberships.

That's a lot of memberships. Can't be long before we start talking about a million people in this country signed up as members of an AFL club.

Funny how Cricket is the no.1 participation sport now yet the member numbers across shield/BBL etc would get nowhere near this

IMO only full game members (whole season) should count.

Perhaps not in the SANFL where there is a club to go to but not many, if any, AFL clubs have a designated Members Club

Its more of an VLF/afl thing to count season ticket holders as members. Membership of a club is usually determine by a fee and can sometimes include voting rights. I'm currently a member of a soccer club, rugby league club and rugby union club none of which includes season tickets.

Breaking it up into 11+ game members, 3+ game, and non playing, both numbers and overall revenue would make for interesting reading

As has been mentioned, the crows would probably have one of the higher proportions of 11+ tickets in the comp

this is the only article i could find, and its from 2014

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/a ... zr5tt.html

it doesnt include gate receipts of the MCG games though, which would significantly boost the big victorian clubs' numbers

Membership should always be counted as one thing and attendance another. Only fair way to determine the income generated by supporters.

Big bash going to close the gap, but a lot of it is to do with domestic cricket not being the highest level. A better comparison in many ways would be shield to state league.

Totally agree. Would love to know if Booney's opinion of him has changed at all in the last week.
