Yep. Get rid of it for October and March. Ruins the best mornings of the year.

October I'm ok with, going to the end of March is too long, IMO.

Agree. October to March is 7 months of the year....

Although I would take the European daylight hours. Daylight until 9 pm in summer even without shifting the clocks. Only downside is broad daylight at 4 am

March is definitely worse, given DSL goes past the Equinox, but at this time of year the mornings are becoming nice after the cold winter mornings and we are put back an hour again.
This calendar year there will be more days of DSL than "normal" time.

This is becoming too regular for comfort, but I agree with B-Mac.

I like getting home before it gets dark, and can actually enjoy part of my day. Also, training in natural light is much better than under lights.

That's just it though - less & less people are working the traditional 9-5 working day.
Earlier starts/later finishes at work is on the increase - a lot of people don't like DLS.

except for driving to work in the dark, which i accept is more dangerous, especially if peak hour was in the dark, i cant see why having daylight at night negatively affects anyone.

my preference would be to try and have sunrise at 7.30 every morning. and move the time with that :D

It's not just a "me problem". Ask our farmers on the west coast for example what they think about it.

1. im still not sure i understand their problem
2. the farmers on the west cost would be <1% of our population - not that it doesnt make them important.

They do. Far West Coast kids (think Ceduna) catch the school bus in the dark in March. These kids have over an hour on the school bus each way every day.

A solution could be to run their own unofficial time by starting school later during these times.

They'd be in the dark in the depths of winter, when it's freezing too, yes?

*edit*

So when it's 44° they get their bus ride in the morning in the dark, before it heats up, yes?

Agreed, but if you start at 4am, it's dark either way, yes? If you finish at 10pm it's dark either way, yes?

Would think so but in the height of summer they are on Holidays anyway.

Think over there they have far more pressing issues that are a threat to public safety like reliable electricity supply and adequate back up supply for instance......
