It's exactly what I thought when I seen it happen, the was definitely no malice in it but needs to be told by the MRP to smarten himself up a bit.

I liked the look of the big fella, love seeing when they have a ruck contest and then immediately tackle an onballer.

Reckon Jenkins injury was preventable if he hadn't squibbed in that marking contest .. just take a normal chest mark and protect your sides in the process

feel free to freeze frame the moment he had eyes for the hawks bloke and share
he clumsily braced for impact when the kick fell short that's about it.

There's certainly a brief moment of hesitation with a slight "flinch" just before contact.
Like JK said, if he goes 100% at it and takes the chest mark, the Hawks player would've come off second best.

First time I've seen the vision... unusual and awkward attempt at the marking contest but to state he had eyes for the hawks bloke or squibbed is just wrong.

If anything, it looked like he didn't even know the Hawks player was there. if he'd been watching the Hawks player he would have naturally braced better for contact.

It's hard to specifically freeze frame the moment the 199cm 103 kg key forward took his eyes off the ball, I'll give you that. ;)

This is not a regular arm positioning for a bloke looking to take a mark. His elbow is out in the direction of the opponent and his face has the look of being prepared for imminent impact...

Just my opinion if course though...

He's definitely more worried about the impact than marking the ball. He was never going to mark that.

He definitely took his eye off the ball to look at the hawthorn player for a split second.

Didn't he take out one of his own players in a trial game earlier this year?

I was at the MCG and at the time thought Jenkins pulled out at last second, hence why he got hurt. If he had've just gone full bore and taken chest mark or hands out in front he would've been ok imo.

I thought the same JK. I saw the replay and thought if he hadn't stopped it could have been prevented. You can see the moment he catches the Hawks player out the corner of his eye and decides to slow down and kinda brace himself.

Interesting that Jack Steven continued to play whilst suffering a punctured lung.

I was watching with a few wound up Crows mates (with several cans under the belt) but called it at the time, and they all agreed. He might have some trouble with awareness as imho he has an imposing presence yet isn't imposing physically. He's still a 60 goal forward though, so has a fair upside.
