I couldn't get away to see Sturt today. I am following the game on flash scores.
Anyone know crowd figures, or standard of the games?

I was at the game today, skill level from both teams was very poor. Excellent conditions hardly any breeze but both teams kept turning it over with Westies the worse.

Crowd did not look that big my guess around 1300.

I don't think we will win a game this year!

Two weeks ago I witnessed North and West. I thought it was the worst standard of league football I have ever seen. I only watched today's match on TV but it seemed at least as bad.
I am worrield about the overall standard of the SANFl.

Eagles put on a clinic yesterday. Their ball use and movement is by some distance the best in the competition. Of course the issue for them will be to finish it off come finals time, but right now I reckon Port at their best are the only team who will get close. Disappointing effort from us and a definite step backwards, but we sure won't be the last team to be belted at Woodville this year. Important game at Norwood coming up on Friday night.

I queried this earlier in the week in other topic. Next Saturday the play the Eagles at Alberton. The AFL PAP's have a bye. I am not sure who is available under the AFL players agreement re the bye but in previous years the SANF has arranged a bye weekend to suit our AFL buddies. Who will the magpies have available or have some of the rules been bent ? It should also be a bonus crowd wise for the magpies as the Power is not playing that weekend.

No ifs buts or maybes why the eagles lost 2016 unlike 2015 I remember them losing 2016 my injury wiped out everything from 2015.

Having said that eagles are playing different this year imho
More younger players standing up
Yesterday's game the smalls destroyed Glenelg

I like to ask the question from what I've been reading Glenelg this Glenelg that . Glenelg come back in the final term and win .
What I saw yesterday by Glenelg a lot of stop start footy
When they got the balk out of centre yes but around the ground no very stop start
Slow decision making ect ect .

And that wasn't a full strength Eagles unit
Look who we're in the seconds
45 and 22
Eagles will improve more
Next week port might be far better or those extra afl players might be tired from their China trip

Enjoy the win, ATM you're the best team in the comp. Not sure where you've been reading "Glenelg this, Glenelg that"

That'd be me Spargo.
I own up.
I said you were very good after you thumped us at the Bay. I also instructed people not to mistake that fact, from memory, the actual wording may differ though.
I'm sure that the Eagles are very good as well though, and seeing that there is a small chance I might be loosely quoted on the subject, I want to assure people it would be wrong to mistake how good the Eagles are also. Although I haven't seen them play but they did manage to smash Glenelg, so that means they must be pretty good.
Hope this clears things up a bit.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I watched both games yesterday umpires in the seconds seemed to be told to pay holding the ball both teams got equal treatment .
League game one umpire seemed to favour Glenelg two frees with 25 or 50 metres in front of goal and you kicked them .
With out those goals from frees Glenelg got you'd have lost by more .

Online I was reading Facebook sanfl pages how good Glenelg were how they come back last terms
That's what I've been reading

Lol - I don't need to get on fb with all the Einsteins on here.
Umpires didn't go close to costing us the game, we were ordinary. The 2 frees we got in front of goal however were when it was all over. Maybe stretch that memory of yours & remember the 4-5 you got in front of goal & the piss weak 25's paid to players audibly screaming to the umpires.
I spoke to an AFL scout on my way out who amongst other things described the umpires as inconsistent & bullied...

Afl scout near me left before the game ended he was not happy with the game played by the bay's
From my side of the oval every time Glenelg crowd shouted ball one umpire raced in and paid free kick to Glenelg
Perhaps not every time the Glenelg fans roared out ball but one umpire
Certainly raced in to pay free kicks as advised by the fans
My side of the oval Glenelg players were yelling at the umpires for frees

Now one tackle in the square by Glenelg player on an eagle not sure seconds or league he could have used. in the UFC or WWE
