I guess if they have to keep pumping in 5-6 players per year, the quality eventually diminishes.

In my case I'm probably biased because I preferred the older style of footy (say 80's-2000). I still enjoy today's game, and the players are fitter and more athletic than ever, but I think the game is less combative. So that probably reflects in my views.

What is his story LL?

A ruckman, Leahy won a Magarey Medal in 1913. He was also a three time best and fairest winner for North Adelaide, in 1911, 1914 and 1919. From 1910 to 1913 he was club captain, leading them again in 1915 and from 1919 to 1921. Leahy represented South Australia at interstate football on 27 occasions during his career.

After retiring as a player he became coach of Norwood and guided them to two premierships.

Leahy was named as the ruckman in North Adelaide's official 'Team of the Century'.

100% correct
The conversation surrounding the HOF should be how deserving the inductees are and how so & so was unlucky to miss out.
I'd hold it every second year with a max of 4 inductees.

It seems the HoF puts a heavy emphasis on who has won Premierships in AFL these days. Barry Hall case in point.

Goodwin very lucky IMO.
Busted for gambling on the game and also implicated in the Essendon saga

Didn't Wayne Carey have to wait due to his indiscretions?
Or at least it was delayed a couple of years from memory?

Why?
Carey and Ablett got delayed due to their off field activities. Would of thought Goodwin's offences would delay his HOF for a few years.

If you're comparing Goodwin's indiscretion to Ablett and Carey, there is your first mistake

Caught betting multiple times, what about the ones he got away with?
Knew what was going on at the Bombers and was in it as deep as Hird, Thompson and the others. Even went as far as admitting he was using 3 of the banned drugs on himself.
