Thats a technique fault NOT a brain dead F******d shot as some suggest.
Of course we're all disappointed when the Sth Aussie fails but batsmen on this pitch are on a hiding to nothing.
Potter around and leave every ball and dont take risks and dont score b4 getting out to a jaffa and everyone bags them for not playing positively.
Play positively and get away with taking a few risks everyone applauds their efforts but get out doing that you're a twat.
Cant have it both ways.

Absolutely the shot was there, as it was there Friday too. The challenge for Head is to put that shot away for a while or at least until he passes 100.

Nice to hear Crash and co praising Tim Paines keeping efforts. On this particular forum he is disected and readily discarded but IMO he is the best keeper in Oz and a wonderful leader of men esp given the current climate. And he is not as bad a bat as some on here suggest.

Totally agree. Paine is much better keeper than Carey at the moment. Don't get the supposed push to get rid of him before the Ashes, should be picking the best keeper in Australia for Test matches and this is clearly Paine.

With Smith not allowed to captain for two years on his return, he is also the best (and only) option to captain till then. Talk of Travis Head doing it, please!!!!!

Carey can have the gig in white ball cricket, but if anyone saw his couple of missed stumping in last Shield game, they were ordinary and very costly, has bit of work to do yet.

I'm a 43 year old fat former B grade bowler.

I'm also backing myself to get Handscomb out inside 4 overs.

He's been solid, always showed a lot of grit like last night. He had Kohli almost yelling at him at times and he held his nerve to see it out till stumps.

Hopefully Finch can return and we can push that lead to 250+.

The pitch is starting to look a little be mischievous at the moment.

I would, with his technique and my in benders it'd be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Graeme Hick and Justin Langer work with Handscomb in the nets daily, how or why they haven't told him to ditch that technique is beyond me. Sure, his Shield numbers stack up but 1st change bowlers for state sides aren't quite the standard of Ishant and Bumrah, who, by the way, is set for a long successful career if his form this summer is anything to go by.

Nah... that and the fact therebis no one else to pick... mitch marsh maybe. Ergh

Doolan? Or Jnr Boof? Surely not.

It’s going to be Mitch isn’t it

If Finch doesn't come up for Boxing Day then Joe Burns probably comes in to open and when they drop Handscomb perhaps Patterson.

Glenn McGrath was certainly a champion bowler but he is total moron as a commentator.

Spot on Carey - those players from the early 2000 era - Warne, McGrath, Gilchrist & Hussey are all horrid & I flick over or mute when theyr on.

Harsha Bogle, Tim Lane & the girls are all really good I reckon.

If not for his busted finger some years ago Paine may have ascended to the Aussie 'keepers role anyway and many judges years ago had him earmarked as our best glove man, perhaps he's just finally got to where he is meant to be.

I fell for him a bit, CA making him do that "laugh with us" promo. Cringe worthy.

I do agree with that, but when the opposition set a trap for you with a plan to put a fielder in a certain spot and bowl in a certain spot with the hope you’ll hit it down the fielders throat, and you go and do just that, that’s stupid batting. I don’t care if the ball was there to hit. The ball was there to hit with the hope you’d be dumb enough to hit it

Looked like the little bit of extra bounce is what got him - caught the top edge and less control.

I'd like to see him continue to play positive and aggressive, the downside is we all know SA based players are on the margins, and if he's not performing he's likely to be the first on the chopping block if it comes down to a couple of choices.

4 overs
So I will assume that bowling spell would be in a 20/20 match ....

A lot of posters , rightly having a go at Travis Heads 2nd innings disMissAL
I am more concerned about the 2nd innings disMissALs dismissals of Peter Handscombe and Marcus Harris
