Is playing in D grade really better for her than moving to another club

Pretty sure she played B's or C's last season.

Apparently there's been a flow on effect from the state teams mixing the Shield games and one dayers up throughout the season instead of playing them in blocks.

Grade Cricket won't have five one dayers to kick off the season this time. Will be a bit more of a mixture of formats.

Probably a good thing. If you had a bad month to start the season finals were basically out of reach.

Wonder when draw will be out on My Cricket??

Hearing rumours:

Starts Oct 5 with 3 one day games to start season.

This is followed by one 2 day game, then another 1 day game.

Only 2 two day games before Xmas (if you get a Bye in one of them, then you only play one!).

Round 1 of 20/20 comp on Saturday of Test Match - but if teams agree they can play on Thursday night, or Sunday. (Could play 10am and still get to start of play at Adelaide Oval I suppose).

Only Semis again in One day and 20/20 comps.

Grand Final March 28/29.

Plus Redbacks League on Oct 6 for those lads that play in that.
Will they be allowed to bowl on the Saturday? how many lads will pull up "sore", predicting a few phone calls on Sat night for the RL coaches :D

For those sides without the bye in the first 5 weeks the season may be done without early wins.

Agree Hound re Oct 6, will be very weak sides with lots of kids that day!

None of the players want to play in Redbacks League, only reason it is still going is it is Tim Nielsen's "baby" and he is too stubborn to get rid of it.

Same as last year, the teams that dominated the early one day games ending up playing finals in two day comp, lose couple of those early games and season just about over!

I believe the fixtures have been sent to club delegates.
Anybody know if it is the same throughout all grades i.e is the 4th grade same as 1st grade in terms of opposition and dates?

Have heard definitely the one-dayers have gone for 4th grade and also the B grade one-dayers to be paid in coloured clothes and with a white ball!

Good change. You want A and B Grade to be as close to each other as possible.

I didn't mind the concept of one dayers for 4th Grade and it was quite popular with most of the players I spoke to (though not all admittedly, some preferred the two dayers) but it was too disjointed from the rest of the club. Finishing at times on different days, playing different opponents, byes at random times.

Why don't the 1st grade play some 2 day games on a Saturday and Sunday earlier in the seasons?

Torrens pick up a more than handy Qld recruit. Played 1st grade last season scoring a ton in the 1 day final I believe. Plus also left arm orthodox wicket taker. 3 very handy ins for the Eags. I believe he is working for the Crows in the office.

Interesting to note the Emerging Redbacks fixtures in the T20 are playing the same day/time as the whole comp. Not like last year when they were on a Tuesday and didn't clash with the clubs. Therefore, players now being taken out of their club teams.

Noticed that on my Cricket. Some teams could potentially have their three best players out!! Not very fair.

If this is the case it is an absolute disgrace!

Makes the comp a bit mickey mouse when this happens, because ER are ineligible for the finals anyway. The teams which had to play them last year were disadvantaged as the result counted against them and may have cost a couple of teams a spot in the semis (eg Uni/TTG). The only "fairness" appears to be the teams drawn to play them this year didn't play them last year. I'd be staggered to see if players from the club ER were drawn against were made to play for ER against their own club (eg Capel v WT, Pengelley v Adelaide etc. etc.) I highly doubt it but who knows?
