Round 7 Centrals v Glenelg Saturday 1410

Postby PanthersFan » Fri Aug 07, 2020 11:13 am

The Doggies showed a bit of fight after quarter time last week but play host to Glenelg who still boast some very classy players. McBean is firing and Partington is always dangerous and I think the Tigers will do enough to get the win at Elizabeth.

My prediction: Glenelg by 15 points.

Very optimistic with that margin would think it would be at least a 6-7 goal loss.We dont have anyone big enough ,strong enough or good enough to go with McBEAN they have absolute guns in their side like Snook ,Partington Motlop etc and will be far to good .We cant play 4 qtrs somtimes not even a half and if we do that tomorrow which seems inevitable as we do it every week we will have no chance . The boys will try but we cant win

Glenelg hasn't put together four qaurters yet either, although last week was an improvement. The Bays have won at Elizabeth only twice since 1992 if my memory serves me. The weather forecast will even things up a bit too. If Central gets a sniff early then it will at least match Glenelg. I'm happy to predict a Bays win but it's not going to be a "gimme", they'll have to work for it.

We have struggled to put together a first quarter all season, being blown out of the water by Sturt, West, Norwood and the Eagles in the first quarter.. or quarter and a bit; down by 5 or 6 goals in each match.
However, if (and it is a huge if) we can do that tomorrow, you never know.
Cheers

Going out on a limb and will say we will win this one.

Our midget squad will be helped by the wetter, windier conditions. For mine our endeavour and effort has been there but the skills haven't, this will help on a cold winters day,

Dogs in upset by 3 goals.

Fort should be playing, a good match up for McBean.

Seriously? Have you not been watching the previous 6 weeks. Everyone else has beaten us, I count the draw to WA as a loss, so why wouldn't you?

Bays by 9 pts at teh half

Decent commentary on the Digital Pass for once

You can tell John Nackeville (sp) and Big Phil do their research and know the league

Phil Walsh take note
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah, I've always liked Nanks' calls, a quality act IMHO.

I didn't think Central was all that bad. They were in and out of the game, certainly, but when they had a crack they did give the Bays a good challenge. I reckon the issue is mental; if they could apply themselves for a full game they'd notch up a few wins.

For the Bays part it was a fairly even contribution, and mostly consistent across the four quarters. Still room for improvement; the skills need a bit of polish. Nice that they were able to weather Central's challenges when they came. A month ago they were freezing like bunnies in headlights when the pressure was on, but not today.

We had 10 players today that are in the 170s(height).My sons under 17s side is taller.
I don't understand how a coach can select such a small line up and we still looked slower.

Yes we won plenty of the footy but it seems that they are just chasing easy kicks.
I don't blame them as there's usually nothing forward of centre to kick to,all that hard work wasted just to get outmarked.
It also seems like we've become the club that opposition clubs want to feel sorry for.
Because after they've beaten us easily they'll say we're not that bad .
We haven't won at home for two years, and we don't look like winning.

Another loss. It was expected but 3 goals better than predicted.

Positives: We kicked more than 10 goals and outscored Glenelg in the 2nd and 4th quarter.
Great games from Troy Menzel, Travis Schiller, Jarrod Schiller and James Boyd. Enjoyed my favourite player Justin Hoskin and 2 goals from Murray Stephenson.
At least the Glenelg supporters enjoyed the game.

Negatives: We lost. 7 to go.

We're getting closer,
I think we'll beat Sturt, we're due for one at Unley & they're not travelling too well at the moment.
