I thought it was a silly rule until I started umpiring games with and watching my kids games, I rate it now.

Playing with last posession rule this year, I rate it. Takes deliberate interpretation right out of it.
Watched 10 minutes of AFL on the weekend and I saw 2 instances of ball being kicked to nobody in a forward pocket and going out of bounds untouched. Thought to myself that should be a free kick.
Think if AFL bring this in it would improve the game.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Also, you'll free up the congestion if you start paying the obvious holds around the stoppages, loose balls and in the 50s.

Yes both players are often holding at the stoppage and in the 50, as they battle for front position, you then look for the hold against the player who has won the front position and is then being stopped from getting the pill

Who is the player making the ball his sole objective? They need to be protected, so they can win the pill and get it out away from the "scrum of players"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Think if AFL bring this in it would improve the game.

It knocks a few minutes off each quarter in the seniors aswell, firstly the player is more eager to retrieve the ball and move it forward and secondly there is more of a concerted effort to keep the ball alive and not have the extra stoppages.

That's the reason I pulled out of tipping this season, I knew I wouldn't keep up.

Cos we refuse to keep the ball in front of us in defence. The ball continues to go over the back and the opposition run onto it and kick easy goals. That game against us they got at least 5 over the back. It's happened for years. Till we stop doing it, we'll continue to leak goals on end.

It’s hard to get excited about anything involving the Adelaide Crows at the moment but Lachlan Sholl has some exceptional qualities as a young bloke. Clean and makes very good decisions..
