Not quite. Apparently a buck show
Back in my day, half of them would have been coppers and the other crims.

An Adelaide amateur football club has been fined more than $5000 after it hosted an event in breach of coronavirus restrictions.

SA Police received reports of a possible breach at the Greenacres Football Club, north-east of the CBD, on Saturday night.

They said a compliance officer attended and the club could not produce a required COVID-safe plan.

“An approved SA Health Management Plan is required for the type of entertainment offered at the club,” police said.

It is understood the venue was hired by a third party for a private function that night.

The club was issued a $5060 fine, and the licensing enforcement branch will conduct further investigations into potential breaches of the Liquor Licensing Act.

The matter will also be referred to the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner.

A lot has been said about this season, and the difficulties clubs have had to overcome firstly to get on the park but then those who have progressed to finals.

I wonder, for A grade teams who win premierships this year - how hard will it be for them to back up and go again next season.

Would it be easier or harder to prepare for a tilt in the same division?

With a full uninterrupted preseason, I think it will be easier, rather than harder.

Why would winning the premiership make it harder? Do you mean from a motivational point of view?

Going back to back would be pretty motivating wouldn't it?

Just a mental fatigue point of view.

Whoever wins the flag will finish end of September, then by the time you wrap up club formalities it'll almost be time for pre-season to come around once again - not a huge break.. even though it's only potentially 2-3 weeks longer than usual this year, makes a bit of a difference.

Or do clubs put off pre-season and just come back in mid January?

Also because clubs aim for flags and promotion, if a side wins this year will they feel greater burden to perform next year a little more? How will clubs cope with the expectation to get the same results and go up a division?

Winning one is hard enough without thinking of back to back

will there be some shuffling amongst the divisions with some clubs requesting to drop down and in turn some wanting to go up?

The end result is only 3 weeks longer than usual. It’s only 1 week later than div 1 would usually finish for clubs div 3 and below.

It'll be taken into account on a case by case basis, or - if Portland don't re-emerge, it will be a matter of offering clubs to stay down or up to fill the gap in D3, most importantly.

Given the extraordinary year, i'm not sure there'd be too much shuffling going on, only because the cattle that most have picked up this year may disperse back to where they were getting big bucks

It’s a great question Bedge, for me a club who wins a flag this year will have earned it, more importantly those who have done it with not only home grown talent, but their recruits who stay on next year. If a vaccine is available early 2021 for this pandemic then things could change a lot, Country clubs will open up again and make no mistake the cheque books will be out. So for clubs right now, player retention is critical. If the goss is right and the salary cap is reduced significantly for 2021 a lot of clubs will struggle to keep their best players when the vultures come after them. So the answer to your question is, how do you prepare for the unknown.
