The Eagles should consider merging with someone.

How does it look from your telly?

I probably should have included the word Intelligent.

Why? If intelligence was a prerequisite for posting the algorithm would automatically delete yours!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Who cares about crowd numbers ? Give us a break. Absolutely terrible . You post the number and not me.

So much group think here.

A woeful number BUT not unexpected. Sadly 3/4 South fans.

I thought the atmosphere was pretty good given only 1/10th of the ground's capacity was filled. Seems a lot of South supporters came out of the woodwork, certainly had the majority of the support.

And 200 more than the 4900 for the Hawks v Essendon game at the same venue In August,

And over 2000 more than the Hawks v Dogs game in Sept, just saying...

I assume he's taking the pi55 as its pretty common knowledge that crowds are discouraged atm, a lot of pubs still don't have happy hours or raffles for the same reason. Makes sense. The smaller the crowd the better atm.
Eagles and South got a bigger crowd than Manchestet United v Tottenham, any sporting event at the MCG recently or the last NBA playoff game! That puts things in perspective.

So you are hoping there is only 5000 there for the GF next week?
I would hope there is at least 20k for it.
Weather was great today and our restrictions are greatly eased, no reason there shouldn’t have been 7k as a minimum

No AFL in the SANFL ;)
4900 for two crap interstate teams at 4pm on a Thursday arvo BTW. I would hope that a SANFL Prelim outsells that

Would prefer 2, the less the better atm, there's a pandemic. The less people near me the better.
As long as Norwood aren't there I'm not overly fussed. ;)

SA is fine.
Public transport is packed daily, shopping centres are busy again and we have moved back to some normality. Even the last two flights I was one were jam packed with hardly anyone wearing masks and that was coming back from Sydney. AO was half full last week with no issues and capacity raised to nearly 30k for Friday nights game

I dont care about public transport, dont use it. I don't care about shopping centres, dont go there. Haven't caught a flight since last year, don't care about them.
You stay away from North's grand final this week and I'll stay away from Norwood's. Fair deal. ;)

Regardless of how many people went yesterday, the two best teams over the whole season are playing in the grand final so I think that is always a successful season

One note from yesterday game, can we get rid of the centre bounce and just toss it , especially with the 666 rule is can do more harm than good and it’s add no value to the viewing pleasure.

What did you expect?

Two of the lower-drawing teams, and as Wedgie said crowds are currently discouraged.

Additionally, a lot of older supporters couldn't go as they don't own smartphones which you need to get in to finals this year for some reason.

Disappointing though it is, in some respects it's surprising they got the crowd they did.

In fact there have been multiple other prelims in the last decade to draw fewer than 6k.

Feels almost as good as a Premiership.
Sounds like the pressure from members and sponsors finally got through to the club

Mattner going to be announced as Sturt coach again. Two time premiership coach who only left to be involved at the highest level, is a very good appointment as already knows the place.
