Don't get me wrong, no one wants to be on a plane for 16 hours with someone in peak infectious period, but equally as you have pointed out, you can be infectious within 24 hours.

Most 'pre approved testing' requirements are along the lines of a negative test within 72 hours of getting on the plane.

So someone gets a test, is negative, two days later jumps on a plane, highly infectious and gives it to everyone because they all have a false sense of security that we all are negative!!!

Lets not forget there are lots of cases of people who are negative for several days before testing positive on day 8-10 (including the cleaners family member - monday's positive).

Even if they were a 'real negative', they still have two days living to do before they get on the plane, what's to say they don't catch it in that period anyway.
Even if they quarantine like buggery, eventually they have to catch a train to the airport, or expose themselves some other way.

Then there are all the trust issues with people expected to do the right thing.
If someone wants to come home badly enough, I wouldn't put it past them faking test results, saying the isolated after their test, etc.

Testing negative before getting on a plane might help, but I'm not convinced its the silver bullet people are making it out to be.

Its not the silver bullet but FFS its not worthless either
mmmm presenting a false document to border security. Your isolation could be maximum 10 years.

How about that Victorian woman that came off the plane and voluntarily presented herself because SA Health didn't know she was coming? Only tested on arrival BANG! Positive! She should never have been allowed on the plane. This is not difficult stuff

If it's a contact of known case why weren't they in isolation?

If it's not the contact of a known, how'd they get it?

Great, a parent brought in his two kids into the front bar tonight, was a dark green unifrom, probably Woodville High, maybe a Primary.

Edit, just checked, different colour unifrom. Phew.

So we assume she went to school monday, woke up crook tuesday, didn't go to school but got tested tuesday arvo, results back this afternoon and confirmed case.

So the question is did she give it to any class mates monday, who then gave it to different class mates tuesday or today (remembering the VERY short incubation period according to our CovidQueen), and those that got it tuesday/today but didn't attend school for whatever reason on monday are NOT under instruction to isolate?

Do people really think there is no more of the virus floating around?
The family at the centre of this attended an Indian festival with thousands of others. Do people really think it couldn’t have been passed on in public at any one of those places that were listed last week

Cant speak for others but I took the word of the highly paid officials who said they had put a double ring fence around the cluster. That not only were the close contacts in quarantine but also the contacts of the close contacts were told to isolate at home and complete the 14 days.

So I expected more positives, but not from someone who was doing handstands in their school uniform with 1199 other Woody High Students.

Yes they are the close contacts but what about all the people in the street that family may have interacted with. You saw the list on there last week. May have been something as simple as the person catching the same bus or being in the same shop

Given that nearly 90,000 people have been tested since it came to light, and 0 of them from the "general public" were positive, and all of the confirmed cases were 'really close contacts', as in people who have spent several hours in the same room as a confirmed case (either at home or work), then to be honest, no, I didn't expect there to be any community transmission.
