Looks like a dramatic day at Glenelg. West Torrens 5/38 chasing 206 with two players potentially not batting due to injuries in the field.

Partnership of 132 between Fisher and Short, then got there 6 down with an over to spare. Piece of cake.

That will sting for the Bays.

Was one of the most amazing wins have seen, besides a couple of miracle wins in our Triple Premiership year few seasons ago. With six or eight 1st Grade players unavailable, had very young side. Young 17 year old fast bowler James Reuther did his collarbone diving to save four and did not bowl an over, Sibley tried a caught and bowled that Sayers whacked back at him and broke his finger badly. Both went off to hospital.

At 5/38, basically 7/38, and with Slee a genuine No.11 who can’t bat at all, really we were 8/38. Sayers was on fire and Pudney bowling very quick, we were literally gone. Fisher loves the white ball, only player in the comp who has made two centuries in 20/20 comp, but this was his first A Grade ton, Murphy Short made his highest A Grade score also after playing in Crows trial game on Thursday to be a top up player next season, and the big 19 year old Pom, Sean Hunt stuck around with Fish.

Was basically season over if we lost, after dropping Cosi five times last week and playing dreadfully, so was great comeback. May come back to haunt the Bays as going to be tight for 4th spot with Kensington, Adel Uni and East Torrens just about certainties already.

Well played - agreed top 3 look locked in. For me, it's between Sturt, Glenelg and WT for the 4th spot. Can't see any of the others being good enough to challenge with Port and Woodville yet to have their bye (and WT who haven't had the bye yet but get a couple of big ins after the BBL).

Cant see us making finals, another two injuries on weekend, and the Bye to come as you said. By the time we get Spencer back after not playing for two months in a BBL Hub may be too late. Think Gibson may also get picked for Redbacks after Xmas so may not see him again.

Agree out of Sturt and Glenelg, don't think Sturt have the bowlers to win two day red ball cricket, more a one day team with their strong batters. Corey Kelly the only wicket taking bowler, they will struggle to take 10 wickets. They may just scrape in to 4th now with all these one day games helping them.

Rate her, very good umpire. Can be hard to understand with that strong Irish accent though :D

With her and Eloise, we have two good female umpires, lot better than some of the blokes going around

Yes good point - Gibson would have to be a chance for the Redbacks. I also think young C Kelly would also be in the mix for at least the white ball stuff. He's had a good start to the season and this may hurt Sturt if he's unavailable (although he's not from NSW so probably won't get a look in  ).

I've been living with the thick northern irish accent now for 6 years. There is nothing sexy about it when you forget to put the dash of Ribena in the guiness.

at the near half way point of the season it already looks like there are 5 teams likely to fill the top 4. kensington, east torrens, adelaide university, sturt, glenelg, with one maybe unlucky to miss.

comments on better performers to date and those that have underperformed excluding 20/20s. mine are taken straight from stats as I don't get to see games these days.

better batters
Davis - sturt 362 runs @ 90
Conway - port 353 runs @70

batters batting top 6 struggling in this format. apologies if stats in mycricket are not correct
B Cooper - port 36 runs @ 7, 5 innings with hs of 20
Thomas - northern district 14 runs @ 2, 6 innings with hs of 4

bowlers
Boylan - prospect 15 wickets @ 19, 68 overs, strike rate 27
Medew-Ewen - port 15 wickets @ 23, 77 overs, strike rate 31

Laird - northern district 1 wicket @ 171, 42 overs, strike rate 252
Gautam - southern district 0 wickets 227 runs, 52 overs

Spoken to a few of our top umps about it, they said they have reported him several times and nothing comes of it. That in itself is an absolute disgrace that SACA don’t have the balls to do anything. Don’t want to be seen as being racists is it?

Everyone agrees that he chucks it, plainly obvious. Unbelievable they allow him to get away with it!

What happens if a player is reported for chucking?

What should happen? Should the player get tested in a laboratory? Do we even have one?

I don't know what happens, but what is the point of the umpires lodging reports and nothing gets done, just gets put in the too hard basket!

We had a player reported few seasons back and he had to go in for testing, was banned for bowling and went back to Moonta to play! Was a chucker in my opinion
