Didn’t we opt for Green because of his allrounder status? Does anyone know why he hasn’t bowled yet? We’ve bowled 45 overs, seem strange.

Dutchy wrote:Remember when they were talking about Cummin's as an allrounder?

Only got into double figures 4 times out of his last 15 innings with a top score of 22
And he still bats above Starc which I think is because they see him as more of a conventional batsman and tries to bat time and Starc is purely just a hitter now and doesn't look to bat any time anymore?

Starc batting average- 22.18 with 10 fifties in 89 innings.
At 8- 18.36
At 9- 21.97

Cummins batting average- 16.14 with 2 fifties in 48 innings.
At 8- 13.13
At 9- 25.88

After putting on 32 with Smith today which was a handy partnership (the third best after two 100 partnerships at the top of the order) it was annoying that Starc got out when he did but he's not going to die wondering. Still not as bad as Wade's dismissal.

Seen Warne telling Marnus to "F*cking bat properly"

Symonds says "Tell him, keep that up and we'll have to squeeze ya guts out ya arse"

I'm with you. Batted with the tail a lot and made important runs doing so.

Warne carrying on like a spoiled brat. You got dropped once cause you were bowling pies Shane.
Get over it.

Wade drops a gettable one. Not his test.

Edit: luckily the same batsman (Rahane) is then bowled by Cummins.

Yeah, he's never forgiven Waugh for dropping him for MacGill in the West Indies. He wasn't just bowling pies ..... he was eating plenty as well.

Aussies have bowled very well this morning. Lyon hasn't had any luck this innings .... could easily have a couple of wickets

Josh Hazelwood should be fined/reprimanded or suspended for his act today
Tim Paine called for a return to the keeper
Josh Hazelwood ignored the captains order, and brilliantly ran out Hanuma Vihari at the bowlers end

A couple of slabs or made to watch a Geoff Boycott innings?

Think it says more about the captain.

Lyon has bowled without luck. Second new ball I would think will be taken straight away.

Im gunna get into strife for this post ?
Cheteshwar Pujara had scored about 16 off the first 100 balls he faced
To put that in perspective thats about 1 run per over
That equates to about 90 runs in a days play if he faced every delivery

His batting virtually won the series for the indians last tour
He is one batsman that should bat in this manner as he converts to BIG scores

Question is
Us baby booming/retros can see the value in this sort of batting
But does this sort of batting put the younger generation off Test cricket in favour of 20/20 cricket ?
