Yeah I would be shitting myself. This uk version is so much more contagious and dangerous than the previous version.
Only have to look at the Perth security guard who caught it and passed it on to 0 people. Good thing they went in to a 5 day lockdown.
Melbourne hospitals are under the pump with 1 person in hospital and a state total of 9 new cases for the week.
Dangerous stuff this uk version
Agree with this. The Brisbane blow up as well was staggering.

You would think if they are going to keep putting the fake virus out there they would invent more cases. I mean for god sakes have these people never watch YouTube on how to perform a good conspiracy?

Have heard this morning that Auckland has gone back into a Lockdown (Similar to Melbourne) with cases of the UK strain being reported.

Any hope of a travel bubble between them & us, is now a long way away.....

May be just being over cautious but our facilities in Melbourne are preparing for the lockdown to extend another week and the ring of steel to come up on Wednesday night

I think it's a given, the Victorian government are well behind their counterparts when it comes to quarantine etc. arrogance and a lack of attention to detail seem to be the major deficiencies.

Hold on - NSW still haven't identified the source of their outbreak.

Also, Vic contract tracers not only trace contacts, but also contact of contacts (you could argue this is overkill). NSW only ever did contacts of contacts for the BWS outbreak.

Not for many, many years.

First step is getting as many people vaccinated as possible, that could be into next year.

Then managing returned travellers. Then managing outbreaks in nations who haven't had or can't afford the vaccine.

4 million Australian's to be vaccinated by the end of March.

Federal Government should then aim to take over quarantine - centralised location away from densely population cities.

They will increase the intake at Howard Springs and might open up 1 or 2 others but it isn’t logistically feasible or possible in some states. Money better spent upgrading what we have and setting up better protocols

Needs to be a few Central facilities that's run by the feds, ever defence force with specialised personnel and not uber drivers.

Otherwise Howard Springs might have to be the only go. But one thing is for sure, this needs to be taken out of the hands of the states.

Money shouldn't even be a factor now given the amount of money lost in the community each lockdown.
