Adelaide and Tyson Stengle are expected to come to an agreed resolution before Round 1.

The 22-year-old Crows forward has been in limbo since being stood down in mid-December for his third off-field indiscretion in eight months – being pictured next to what appeared to be an illicit substance.

Talks between Adelaide, Stengle’s management, the AFL and the league’s players association have dragged on for reasons including the Christmas break, his cultural considerations, what policy his latest incident falls under, potential sanctions, his two-year contract and working out what he needs.

Stengle has been training with his junior club Woodville-West Torrens since the start of February.

His management sought to get him back in a team environment after more than a month of solo sessions.

It is expected the Crows will have to pay out the 16-gamer – who they re-signed in August until the end of 2022 – if they part ways.

Woodville-West Torrens is confident it can recruit Stengle if he drops off Adelaide’s list.

The ex-Richmond player’s off-field incidents – drink-driving in April, getting caught with drugs in the CBD in October and the last one – have happened during breaks in the season and since cousin, mentor and former housemate Eddie Betts returned to Carlton in late 2019.

Stengle is already set to miss the first four rounds of the coming season after copping an AFL ban for the October incident.

Interesting, you would hope they would give him one more chance.

A few players last year who fell out of the AFL system weren't allowed to return to local clubs, not sure what has changed in that regard.

Someone explain to me what "cultural considerations" means?
Are we treating him differently to how we would treat a non indigenous person?
So what about a Caucasian persons cultural consideration?
This is bullshit!
The bloke clearly doesn't have the discipline required at the elite level.
Seeya pal, give his spot to someone more deserved.

I rate him as a player. I'd be happy to have him at Geelong. Going to a club with a good culture could be his saviour. Has the potential to be a very good small forward if he got his shit together in his personal life.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

This is the bloke that Richmond couldn’t get on the right path, Adelaide tried and failed. Not sure getting out of SA will sort him out.

Needs to prove he has changed over a couple of SANFL seasons if he is ever going to have another crack.

Good deal for the Eagles, instead of him playing against them he is now an automatic replacement for Rowe.

Saying he hasn't settled in Adelaide, pick 6 might come to nothing in the end.

Adelaide can confirm forward Tyson Stengle’s employment with the Club has come to an end after both parties agreed to part company.

Stengle has been on stand down from all Crows related duties following his latest off-field matter last December.

The Club has since been working with the young forward and his management to resolve the matter.

Both parties have now agreed to a settlement, with the terms to remain confidential.

The Club wishes Tyson well for his future both on and off the field.
