I'm a bit older;

Geelong v West Coast - Mitchell White

I'm older again and will raise your Mitchell White with a Geoff Miles or Darren Bartsch.

If you are going Sunday to watch Port, make time for the screening of "The Rover of Tobruk". Any Port supporter would and should be proud. Make that any football supporter. Actually, any Australian. He was my parents favorite footballer.

If you are ever at Alberton I think one of his State guernseys is on display. He captained our State straight after the war when we drew with the Vic's at the MCG which is a much forgotten match (mostly due to finally winning in 1963.

"'The Rover of Tobruk' tells the amazing story of World War Two military medallist and Port Adelaide Football Club immortal, Bob Quinn. Robert Quinn, aka Bob, is arguably the greatest football player in the 150 year history of the Port Adelaide Football Club. He lived a rich and astounding life and is unique in winning two Magarey Medals and one Medal of Honour for valour during the Second World War. Told through intimate interviews with his son, Greg Quinn, and a number of historians and football greats, and using stylised re-enactments and archival material, the film appeals to both fans of football and avid historians. The film is a moving, revelatory story that is both a portrait of a remarkable human and an exploration of universal themes of courage, commitment, loyalty and resilience. It's a film that looks to the past as a benchmark for modern virtue. It uses the theatre of war and the spectacle of sport to explore themes that ask us to question what it means to rise to greatness and how heroism can often manifest in the most humble of moments.

WA Police Chief said the game will go ahead without spectators.

Wildcats and Rugby who are playing tonight will have spectators allowed as the restrictions don't apply til midnight but will have to wear masks.

I can imagine those matches tonight have half filled stadiums as population make their own individual choices before lockdown at midnight.
Success is in trying

I'm pretty sure this match was at Princes Park.

Quinn was one of few who played in the SANFL both before and after the war.

The goalsquare was a debacle

The kick - I didn't mind it. I just laughed. Atleast the ball movement is quicker

Take it you haven’t seen the Gold Coast much this year. They are utter garbage. Sydney should still have more than enough quality players to take care of them comfortably

I have, they fought hard against West Coast in Perth, pumped North and then lost to Adelaide, Carlton and the Bulldogs pumped them in Melbourne. Lack of big men will hurt them and while Sydney have surprised us the 4 out includes 3 of their most dangerous.

They might.
