So.... how good are Morphett Vale? Between them and Reynella, are they the biggest threat to Flaggies? Sometimes it’s easy to dismiss round one results but looked like the emus pushed the falcons, and have heard they were unlucky not to pinch it. Hard not to be impressed with Reynella also. Know Cove are struggling but to keep a team goalless is a phenomenal effort!

Morphett vale were top quality against us.

Tough, skilled with some good targets forward of the ball.

Maybe a little suspect for height at times

Jee whiz. What a weekend of results. Serious problems at Christies Beach. Hearing rumours of some unrest. Some players. Some committee members. Watch this space.

They're missing Mazey and Nobes pretty badly I would think.
Is Mazey injured?
No J Crate either.

"unrest" seems a bit like you are trying to stir the pot.

A few challenges with injuries, Mazey (2020 Mail Medallist) & Crate (2020 Best and Fairest) out at the moment, along with Hoey (injured during trial game) and Powell (season - knee) has currently weakened the midfield. Also having Jolly and Carter out is a loss at each end, with a few more scattered around also injured is testing depth.

Positive of all that is that a number of young lads are getting games who may have been a bit further back in the queue, which will hopefully set us up for the coming years, especially with the talent coming through the juniors at the moment. Less experience in the side will cause more inconsistency, and as such results are not up to what we would hope.

All credit to Morphett Vale and Cove over the past two weeks, both have been great against us and deserved their wins. From the results this week, the competition looks very healthy with no clear pecking order at the moment.

Sorry I am only going off what I’ve heard from a couple of different sources. Seems very early in the season for that to be true.

Looks to be a pretty even competition but still Flaggies seem a fair way ahead of the rest. But from that point on it looks like you can throw a blanket over the rest with Reynella leading the pack at the moment.

Felt a little bit sorry for Cove A grade yesterday. While they had a massive score kicked against them they kept trying and taking the game on. It looked a bit like men v boys at times but they have some good young kids and will improve. Number 11 for them looks a player for the future.
Well done to Flaggies. Very good team effort by all.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Big problems at Christie’s Beach causing some discontent amongst players and committee members. The rumblings are louder than last week, as they should be after a 100pt thrashing. Makes you worry about what’s to come.
Other than Reynella and Flaggies, in my opinion the top 5 remains a mystery. Valleys have been impressive. But throw a blanket over the rest. Perhaps it’s more about who will struggle the least. I mean Cove are currently 5th but lost by over 200pts on the weekend.

Hope so but will believe it after it happens
Would love to go through this thread & find the post where Blackwood were 100% leaving the HFL. It was about 6 or 7 years ago

Pains me to admit it but its bye bye SFL if Flaggies do go. And i wouldn't blame them if they did.

What has happened to our once great competition??

25 years ago many considered our league as arguably the premier league in the state or very close to it.

Where did it go so wrong? 2 Divs into 1 Era
