You can trot that dribble out all day long.

Let's say a totally new club gets formed in england and they want to wear Newcastle's black and white stripped strip.
Do you think Newcastle's fans and management would be happy about it?

Dribble? You're the one who brought up immigrants getting confused by striped guernseys to support your view.

Its a valid point!
Every club is trying to attract new supporters/members.
There should be no reason for any confusion whatsoever!
The growing amount of Africans and Asians in the game brings a whole new supporter base.

Just let them wear it...….their almost likeable in their powder puff blue. I want to hate them again.

FFS Collingwood lose nothing if Port wear the magpies...……. Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal all wear red yet all 3 are global giants.

FFS pretty much every NBA team has a white uniform yet all have their own identity and many are global giants.

FFS by letting Port wear it may give Collingwood another blockbuster game as the rivalry would only grow stronger as to who 'owns' the black and white. Market the shit out of it. Shit go as far as playing for the guernsey, whoever wins gets to wear the black and white in their next clash no matter whose home ground its played on. Each game is played for the next clashes guernsey rights.

Much ado about nothing.

Even if they did care Newcastle wouldn't get a say, many teams have used black and white stripes as away kits anyway. If anything they would sing songs about how the other club copied their fashion.....the Newcastle fans would enjoy the piss take.

In 2012 Cardiff even changed from their traditional Blue tops to the polar opposite Red (the new owners eventually relented to fan pressure and restored the original colours, albeit it took them 3 years)

*Silver, teal and black and white, I believe.

Given the limited instances in which the Power wish to wear the prison bar, it's hard to see this as anything other than Collingwood throwing their weight around.

Time for Port to think outside the square? How about a reverse of the Prison Bars for an away guernsey, predominately white with black bars?

They should swerve everyone and run out in a Richmond guernsey

As I said personally I think Port should be allowed to wear the guernsey but is this the first time they have been pulled up on their 'sign a contract that suits them at the time' to then only try and change that contract strategy.

Thinking Football Park / AFL entry agreement, thinking guernsey issue, thinking conditions to have SANFL reserves, thinking Adelaide Oval/SMA agreement.

You’re 100% spot on. For the majority of football people I talk to, no one gives a stuff about their guernsey.
It’s the repeated attempts to shift the goal posts when things don’t suit that leave people shaking their head.
