Discovery Parks took over McCracken late last year, and you'd assume they have plans to upgrade/change the setup down there.
Something about it becoming a 9 hole course.
Plus building a waterpark etc are a few things I've heard. Trying to make it family friendly...

If your going to miss, make sure you miss well enough to get to the next fairway. Nothing much good comes from missing by 5 meters.

Just got back into Adelaide tonight from a weeks golf in tassie, what courses are you playing at Barnbougal?

Haven't worked it out yet, but apparently The Dunes is better than Lost Farm? Will only have time to play one but keen to play the new 14 hole par 3 course the next morning though. How did you go?

Stupid game.
1st round of club champs.

Only put my name down for today, yesterday. Wasn't going to bother as the game had deserted me.

Ended up with 8 pars. Don't think I've hit 8 pars in last 6 months.
84 overall...so 68 nett.

Royal Regency for a social ambrose.
Course is in good condition.
Definitely inproved since I had last been down there.

Interesting development going down there with a 18 hole mini putt putt going in.

West Lakes today, beautiful weather. Hit 91 off the stick, 2 triples in there but other than that it was the best Ive played for quite a while, hit a 9 iron to 2 feet on the 15th for a birdie.

Cant say Im a huge fan of the course, not much variance in the holes, bit up and back and squeezed together. Never heard so many calls of "fore"

Willunga

Nice and warm morning, but it was a tad windy out there.
greens are the quickest Ive seen them, but didnt play ridiculously quick like Thaxted have done.
the fairways were lightning quick out there also, the balls tended to just keep rolling along.

Overall the game was steady, the first real surprise I had was on the 12th - Par 3 - where I just nursed a little baby drawing 8i to a pin on the back right corner - majestic shot, until it cleared the green, didnt see it bounce so obviously straight into the dam
All day long the 8i was just super long, for what I normally hit it, that really threw me out.
Wasn't a bad day with the Driver behaved itself for the most part, the only time I stuffed it was on the 11th and tried to just half swing and guide the ball, and of course it started further right than expected and trickled into the water
had a few brazilians on the greens, they were looking good all the way....

finished with a 91, 2 lost balls and an unplayable.. ffs...

What a difference a day makes. Went around yesterday and had 80 off the stick. Best round ever, 44 points including 24 and the back 9 with a scrub!
Stroke round this morning, 95 and 3 lost balls.

The trip was amazing. Barnbougal Dunes was the pick of the courses, absolutely breathtaking.
Played off the terracotta tee blocks. Some picturesque holes, and a nice walk along the beach front between holes.
Lost Farm, while still amazing was easier. A lot more open around the greens and tees. Still some challenging par 3s, especially if the wind is up.

The best way to describe Lost Farm in my opinion is of you took courses like lady bay or compass and pumped them with steroids for 20 years, just on another planet.

Bougal Run was also sensational, challenging par 3s, and driveable par 4s depending on wind. About 4 of the greens are in terrible condition, a bad batch of seed or something according to the pro shop.

The 2 Hobart courses were pretty good, not sure how Royal Hobart keeps its royal title though. A very very flat, straight forward layout.

Tasmania GC has some cracking views as its situated right on a bay.
