Might even read it this week
Will Kochy get part of the blame?
Can Ken still coach?
Will Hartlett cop it, he single handedly changed the game, is his career over?
Was Fantasia worth the 2nd round pick?

Stay tuned, these questions and more to be answered sometime this week
Booney normally drops it Monday or Tues while he's at work, because well you know who works.

Also you may want to be a little concerned about your Hawks mate, they are not travelling overly well.

We're not the ones who have already printed the premiership T's. Until last night there wouldve people at Port Power considering wearing the Wharf Pylons next week and giving up the 4 points such is the arrogance of this mob.

*Looks for notes from West Coast loss*

Two trips away to play contenders early in the year and two failures. Lack if intent on Saturday night was evident, something that you can control is endeavour, willingness to work and it didn’t appear to be there on the weekend. Very disappointing.

So, we have two ways of looking at this, it’s a real problem and we need to address it or it’s two contenders on their home deck who have touched us up. For mine it’s a fair bit of both.

The bad – After getting belted in Perth in the midfield and contested ball our forward line struggled as entries were bombed in time and time again and the Eagles defence gobbled up the aerial attacks, the exact same thing happened in Brisbane on Saturday night. Lost contested ball by 21 and clearances by only 3, but the lack of pressure on the Brisbane mids saw their ball use going forward far more effective than ours. Bar Wines continuing his good form and Drew having some moments the midfield was completely dominated leaving the forward line having to work with no space any time we tried to attack. Andrews had a field day working Dixon under the ball or having Adams and Starcevich help him out, Rich and Birchall ran the ball out and Ports defence was constantly under pressure.

That pressure wasn’t all Brisbane’s doing, unfortunately. The forward half went at 34% disposal efficiency I50, 58 I50 for the match for 5 goals emphasizing the lack of quality coming into the F50. Tackles were on par with our season averages ( 50 for the match, 11 I50 ) but the amount of tackles that weren’t held was embarrassing. Time and time again Brisbane’s midfield broke through half hearted tackles that barely slowed them down, let alone prevented them from using the ball. This is all based on intent and how focussed you are and from the moment we set foot on the field we didn’t look focussed.

Several players had no impact and some were, I hate to use it, passengers. Fantasia had a dirty night, not easy as the opportunist small forward when there’s very little opportunity presented so I’ll cut him some slack. Not so much slack cut for Hartlett though. A massive brain fade ( Hey, I can see the appeal in flattening Robinson ) as Dixon was about to line up for our second goal of the night and Brisbane waltz down the other end and score. The old 12 point turn around. If not for Bonner and Jones being on the sidelines injured Hartlett’s place must be under a question mark. His preseason was interrupted and it’s showing. Houston, Clurey and Marshall can all get a nod in this space. Ordinary nights for all of them.

The good – Now, I had to dig pretty deep here, Wines clearly Port’s best again, he was the only contributor across the four quarters and one of only a few who could hold his head high after that performance. Drew had some good moments through the match and showed why he’s holding a couple out of the side. Bergman shows a little more each week, still gets blinded by the bright lights under pressure at times but I like more and more what we see from him. I thought Rozee was moving better than he has for several weeks and I get the feeling a big one from him is not far away. Aliir continued to intercept, another solid outing.

Boons best – Wines, Drew, Aliir.

Changes for this week :

With Boak set to return SPP might make his way out of the side, I didn’t think he was our worst by any stretch but balance might tip him back out. Rockliff hurt a knee at Alberton yesterday and we’ll find out the extent of that today but the news doesn’t appear great. He’d had 34 touches and 5 tackles up to that point. Farrell produced some good numbers again, 31 touches, he’s finding some more of the ball now which is good to see. Lienert’s form might put some pressure on Hartlett, Bonner like wise. We’ll also know more about Burton’s ribs today, that might be the opening for Lienert to come in for the Showdown.

There's no way we'd give up points to make a point and how, with your level of stupidity, would you possibly know there'd be people at the club willing to do so? You're embarrassing yourself again.

Got to wonder why I clicked on and read the shit you post. My mistake.

I think this was why the Richmond win was so important.

Yes the Brisbane and WC performances were ordinary, but despite that there will be a glimmer of hope, confidence and knowledge that at their absolute best they actually do have the ability to stand up to finals like pressure against a quality top four side. That's invaluable.

0-3 against Richmond, Brisbane and WC would have been disastrous.

Interesting looking at the "Minor Premiers Percentage against Top 8 Opponents" .. Of the 23 yearly leaders in this category, only 6 went on to win the flag.

You could equally mount an argument that the 12-0 record against bottom 8 teams proves Port Adelaide is mentally tough, and doesn't go into 'easy' games with a relaxed attitude that ultimately leads to an unexpected loss. ;)

For what it's worth, it sh!ts me to tears that we go to water once we get 3 goals down against the better teams.

Port very interested in Riley Knight in the mid season draft I’ve heard, good replacement for Rockliff.

Agreed. Port beat who they were suppose to would have to be the worst knock on a team ever.

If port beat the top 10 teams but lost to the bottom 8 in assuming they’d be labelled big heads/unprofessional.

You can’t win either way.

If wearing the SANFL jumper in the AFL is so important to the club, fans etc. Why don't the members protest at Alberton, given it was those who signed their lives, IP and jumper rights away???
Something similar to the scenes at Old Trafford today may get the message across.

Wasn't he the Crow that was rumoured to have a 3 year deal at the Gold Coast last season?
