Maybe they were looking for a more appropriate venue...

Am I really commenting on an eastern league match?
And why in the SANFL thread????

In the cold light of sobriety this now appears to be a legitimate question, to which I do not have a worthy answer.

I have deleted what AFL commentary I have been able to, and I apologise for smearing my irrelevant thoughts on this most august forum. Hooray for beer!

I thought it was a bit bruise free. More a contest of skill than of muscle. No injuries noticed during the game, though I see in the write-up that Nunn had a hamstring niggle. Don't know how serious this is.

Was just thinking today when Sturt had a good crowd in attenance at Prospect, is it a concern that only Sturt, Norwood and North supporters travel to away games in numbers in a ten team comp? (excluding the 4000 Crows supporters of course)

Never at Prospect. I know of Glenelg supporters who don't know where Prospect Oval is!

When Glenelg play at Prospect there is a small gathering at the North Western end of the old grandstand and that is about it.

There are certainly a lot more North supporters at a match at Glenelg than vice versa.

****,I travelled 3000 km to watch the Bays at Prospect 4 weeks ago including a 400 km “sprint” from the Iron Triangle on the day of the game. Plenty of good Bays fans in the NW terrace, and you could see plenty of black and gold on the outer side and behind the Northern end goals.

Maybe Wedgie was all overcome that day from meeting Super??
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I actually spent the 2nd half in front of the glassed off grandstand and thought Bays numbers in that pocket were well down on about 13 years ago.
Bays fans are very reliant on how their team is travelling too, I only see North, Norwood and Sturt fans in numbers at all games matter how their team is doing.
If the NW pocket which I had a great view of and the northern goals which isn't even terraced was the only spot they were I rest my case.

Trying to apply some logic and I thought maybe the inner suburb clubs have an advantage with less travel involved but Westies stuff that idea up.

I thought the Glenelg turn out was pretty good considering it was a 1.10pm start on a Saturday which would mean most travelling supporters had to be out their front door by midday.

GL were 47 points down v NW in this match , but i have to 'Defend' my team
With about 10 minutes left GL hit the front and appeared likely to win by 2-3 goals
The magnificent NW defence held them at Bay instead

The defence against in 2021 are now
NW 564
GL 568

GL squandered a MArveLous opportunity to have the best accredited defence this season

Norwood's defence was wonderful against North at the Parade. Might have been 100 plus if not for their fine resilience in keeping us to just a 92 point win.
