I think we've already improved mentally in leaps & bounds, the players are now happy to play in the league side & the camaradery between the players is much stronger, they want to play for & with each other * & bust their collective guts' each week. Eventually improvement on the win/loss front will come, it always does. A few select recruits will make a huge difference as well. The club is now in an excellent financial position, probably better than most other SANFL clubs, we're heading in the right direction.

Well, you can only win two things in the SANFL; the premiership or the wooden spoon. The loser of this match is well placed to win the latter.
Hopefully it won't be us... although our last spoon was way back in 1977 (only second overall), I am not ready for the club to win this. ;)

On another note, good luck to one of my students, Darcy McDonald, who makes his debut for our Ressies after performing very well in the U18s. Almost all of our students who play SANFL play for Sturt or Norwood so I am very pleased to have Darcy as one of ours. :D

Still no room for Jakob Thomson, we are a small side which is one of our excuses each week.
Yet we refuse to give him an opportunity, no future in playing the likes of Gillard and Haydon.

I think some pessimism is inevitable on these types of pages, an essential part of balanced and reasoned discourse, particularly when there is a level of pragmatism and constructiveness. In that particular poster's case, IMHO, those elements seemed to be consistently overshadowed in his postings on this forum.

His username has come up a few times since, in my view, he did the reasonable, positive thing and actively sought to focus his attention elsewhere. Maybe the rest of us should respect his chosen absence from this forum and, pardon the idiom, 'let sleeping dogs lie'.

Just a thought.

How bad are West!
I’m no expert but if they continue to go sideways they’ll struggle to kick goals.
Get it going forward and take risks.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I don't like bagging are own players, but please drop Marsh. Apparently, seventh in the league for hit outs and doesn't get the ball. Kicked two out on the full from his two kicks under no pressure. Ruck anyone else, doesn't matter who. Go dogs!
