My sister and nephew made a mad scramble for the Airport on Sunday to get out of Brissy before any lockdown restricted them, to make sure they could attend my old man's 80th on July 9. Once they arrived in Adelaide they were told they had to isolate for 14 days so the whole exercise became a costly waste of time.

Can they get out early with a couple of negative tests?

Apparently have to test on days 1,5 and 13 or something like that ... Sisters place of residence in Qld starts lockdown at 5:30pm SA time today, so provided they beat that deadline (which is highly unlikely) they could technically get back up there and would be OK as the Qld borders are open to SA still. Sounds like they'll just bunker down here and play it by ear

What have we learnt from the Wu HU Flu over the last 16 months

Its a super spreader.
If you drink alcohol standing up we will catch it.
Its the new normal.
Yes we know its out there.
Its spreading like wildfire.
Pre emptive strikes will fix it.
You can catch this new Flu by walking past some one.

Does this mean if i walk past a pretty young girl she might get pregnant ????

This new FLU

Is faster than a speeding bullet
More powerful than a locomotive
Is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

So who thinks they are making this stuff up as they go along . :? :? :?

So now the concert we are going to have the following rules:
*Must remain seated
*No singing
*No dancing
*No bar as drinking is not permitted

I said to the organiser that I don't think we'll go to the concert but we'll still take the rest of the package (it's a work show), she piped up at me and said "You don't have to drink to have a good time"
I'll be giving in a fair nudge beforehand. We're staying 2.5kms away from the concert so if I stash a couple of drinks at 800 metre intervals I should be fine to make an early exit and have a couple of drinks for the walk back to the hotel.

This really is f******, I could understand if we had a case or 5, it's utter bullshit, especially now the 29 miners blew zero.

How bout we have no lockdowns, if it bothers you stay home, if youre sick stay home. We will have continual lockdowns under these circumstances for years because not enough people are getting infected and giving us herd immunity.

Imagine if we had zero tests, what do you reckon the case numbers would be? Would certainly put a stop to their alarmism.

Anyone hear Greg Hunt today start the infertility narrative and how its on the rise in Australia, i wonder where that could be going and what could cause that in the future?

Don't often agree with Daisy but I do honestly believe our great grandchildrens history lesson at school will suggest we didn't put enough emphasis on those at risk taking the precautions they need to take.

If you are at risk , you don't need a government law to wear a mask, you can do that anyway...….you don't need the government to ban crowds at AFL games to avoid it and you can still go get vaccinated.

I guess frustration comes from the fact it feels like there is no end game...…..seriously what is it. Are we done when 80%, 90%, 100% of people are vaccinated. Are we done in 5 years time when we are still getting placed in lockdowns and are all frustrated and there is anarchy. What is it...……

The only end game I can see is in 5-10 years time when we have an election and some Trump style politician runs a campaign on the basis of freeing all restrictions, a frustrated population then vote them in.

Noel Gallagher from Oasis on coronavirus restrictions in the UK last year:

Gallagher said he had resisted calls to wear a mask on a train and in shops. “I was going up to Manchester the other week and some guy’s going, ‘Can you put your mask on,’ on the train, ‘because the transport police will get on and fine you a thousand pounds. But you don’t have to put it on if you’re eating.’ So I was saying: Oh right, this killer virus that’s sweeping through the train is gonna come and attack me, but see me having a sandwich and go, leave him, he’s having his lunch?

Australia sometimes is a funny little place,
Victorians can go to Cairns and return without restriction (because it's 1,600 kms from Brissy & there's no virus there), yet us South Aussies can't.
