Thanks for the info Jim. Looks like I'll miss out on the cheap prices (some places are 10% of their normal price) for a while and just plan another trip to Port Douglas instead.

Only side effect to report is a dead arm. Feeling hungover too but that might be more due to the 8 hour drinking session yesterday. ;)

Emergency Powers under the Act Emergency Management Act 2004
https://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/LZ/C/ ... 0.AUTH.PDF

During this Major Emergency, Authorised Officers have broad powers to do whatever is necessary to address the outbreak of COVID-19 within South Australia (Emergency Powers).[3]

These Emergency Powers allow the State Co-ordinator and Authorised Officers to:[4]

enter and, if necessary, break into any land, building, structure or vehicle (using such force as is necessary);
take possession of, protect or assume control over any land, body of water, building, structure, vehicle or other thing;
direct or prohibit the movement of people, animals or vehicles;
direct a person to remain isolated or segregated from other people or to take other measures to prevent the transmission of a disease or condition to other people;
direct a person to undergo medical observation, examination or treatment;
require any person to give information;
direct any person to assist in exercising any power related to the Major Emergency; and
do anything else necessary to address the outbreak of COVID-19 within South Australia.

This page has information about the various directions issued by the State Emergency Co-ordinator under the Emergency Management Act 2004 (SA). The South Australian Government also has a dedicated website SA.GOV.AU: COVID-19 (opens new window). This website includes comprehensive information regarding the current COVID-19 situation.

If you are directed to self-quarantine by an authorised officer, and you fail to comply with a direction to self-quarantine or breach the requirements of self-quarantine, you may be issued with an on-the-spot fine of $1,000.

All other borders closed.
Possibility of NT and WA opening up by end of week but NSW weeks away I’d think

Given they're still going up and a handful a day are community transmissions I'd say that's weeks away.

And most people would agree with that point. I can only assume they associate crowding with standing and drinking.

He wasn't a happy man, happy to have shots at Spurier and Marshall but seemed to go missing against the Police commissioner. Whilst I agree with his point, he lost a few then when he wouldn't go hard at him. I mean he's making the decisions at the moment.
