73 from 17 now as Christian falls. Aus 8/124, game over and the Windies go 2-0 up.

These first 2 matches have showed this team is not good enough, credit to the Windies they have smashed Australia.

Behrendorff, Carey, Meredith, Swepson and Turner have to be given a go in the next 3 games. There's also Agar and Tye as the other quicks in the squad.

If the team and particular players continue to underperform in this series and then in the proposed Bangladesh series you'd think the likes of Warner, Smith, Maxwell, Stoinis, Cummins and both Kane and Jhye Richardson should come straight into the squad for the T20 World Cup depending on their availability.

Australia lost 7/39 today.

Until the selectors realise the BBL is the worst domestic T20 league in the world we will continue to get belted. Get rid of 2 franchises, play each other twice, makes the perfect 10 game season.
Finch-Finished, couldnt make a run in said shit BBL why would he make them internationally.
Wade-Had more than enough chances, good domestic cricketer, thats it
Marsh-On what planet is he an international No3, retains place at 6 or 7
Phillipe-Opens or doesnt play
Henriques-The opposition must piss themselves when he comes out at No5
McDermott- Who?
Christian-Please, beats up on 5th and 6th bowlers in said shit T20 domestic comp
Agar-A beneficiary of the Langer selection policy, if youre from Perth youre in.
Starc-Finished
Hazelwood- Underated
Zampa-Yes

So 3 or 4 from this eleven are worthy of being considered for the World cup.
There is a reason not many Australians are chosen and then actually play in the IPL anymore.

Agree with you in regards to the quality of the BBL and the correlation of that to guys picked on the back of recent BBL form obviously finding the step up quiet tough not just in this series so far but against NZ earlier in the year aswell- guys you mentioned like McDermott, Phillipe, Henriques have all found it tough.
Finch and Wade did OK against NZ but Finch has struggled due to a lack of form.

It will be easier at the end of this series with the larger sample size of 5 matches to analyse who is up to it and who's not and if the players not playing I mentioned should replace them.

Obviously performance needs to be turned around quickly and there should be some changes to try and help that. Hopefully Carey and Meredith possibly also Behrendorff can get an opportunity in game 3.

Meh, winning a T20 WC holds the same prestige as being World Tiddly Winks champions.
Couldn’t give a stuff if we lose every T20 as long as the test side is going well

I get what you're saying but the BBL is now the pathway into Australia's T20 team, not state cricket. He's performed well in the BBL so deserved the chance he's had however he shouldn't be anywhere near the ODI team, should be trying get into and then playing decent List A cricket for WA first for that to happen.

Game 3 on now and Australia won the toss and batted, currently 2/72 from 10 overs.
I got my wish, Carey and Meredith in at the expense of Phillipe and Agar.

And Starc remains in the side despite going at over 11 an over for the series so far.

For this match I have highlighted how old each player will be on Dec 31 2021.
Wade 34
Finch 35
Marsh 30
Carey 30
Moises 34
Turner 28
Christian 38
Starc 31
Zampa 29
Meredith 25
Hazlewood 30

A 31.3 average helped largely by Meredith, is this where we are at atm?

Starc must've read my criticism, looks like he's been giving Zampa and Joshie some pointers though.

A 3-0 lead coming up.
