AFL 2021

Talk on the national game

Re: AFL 2021

I think the AFL would have (and so far rightly) backed themselves to make the game work around restrictions or lockdowns.

The AFLPA have made it clear that hubs aren't on the players wish list, but shorter 2-3 week trips away from home are acceptable, that's why I reckon.

Their arse cheeks would be flapping atm, I can see a condensed last few rounds coming up in a scramble to eliminate 10 sides and isolate the finalists.

Probably right there see 11 new cases in Vic today, should just move everyone to SA and WA and get it done

Bloody disappointing that SA Health are so risk adverse, we could have had some great neutral games here in the coming weeks

I know, but we're so crap in other areas, Miss Helena's comment about touching balls a few weeks ago illustrates how little she knows or thinks about football.

Hey to this point we're covid free so I'm willing to let her comment slide.
Yeah it was a little silly, but shit I'd hate her job.

Her job, as a CHO isn't to front the media at daily press conferences. Her job is to offer health advice.

Imagine how stupid we'd all look if we had journo's asking us questions day in day out, even if it was about our daily job, we're no trained to deal with that, nor is she. Granted, she's had 18 months on the job training, but she'll put her foot in her mouth every now and then.

I agree, it's our medi-hotel system that seems to need attention from time to time, it's like we get a bit complacent.

I reckon she's doing a great job. I rate her and wouldn't have her job for quids.

F*** that, keep 'em out. I don't want the SANFL Grand final date being compromised with a VFL related SA lockdown....

Agree.

The critism she copped on the socials about her footy slips up was ridiculous. Yeah it was a bit silly but lots of people claiming she was useless at her job because she didn't understand being in an AFL crazy was just nonsensical.

I know if was asked questions about the opening of an art gallery event I would have no bloody idea how that works etc.

Knowing AFL crowds was so far out of her knowledge scope relating to work its not funny.

Media, including AFL media, hasnt helped with that. Ive long been a Whately fan, but the utter disdain and venom in his words whenever referring to SA for the past month or so is poor form. Especially from someone who resides in a city thats lockdowned more than any other here, and should understand the significance of trying to avoid further occurrences.

She's just let the netballers in though.

So she's not risk adverse, but rather sexist!

I've been in Qld a bloody long time now but I still crack the shits when the Victorian flogs diss South Australia. I'm certain a deep seated inferiority complex about Sydney is the root cause of it all. Adelaide and SA shouldn't try to be anything on this side of the country. Nobody does what Adelaide does better. Stay the best kept secret in Australia I say.

Ticket sales for next Friday's footy at Adelaide Oval have just been suspended. Seems they are going to crack down further....

Funny you say that, I reckon the chip on their shoulder stems from NSW rivalry or jealousy (take your pick). Silly bastards thinking they can take the piss out of us better than we take it out of ourselves
