And season halted in 3,2,1

EXCLUSIVE: At least 3 clubs in Queensland have players / staff in hard lockdown because they unknowingly visited Tier 1 sites in Victoria before flying north. One high profile player among them @9NewsMelb @9NewsAUS

Why would you move the Crows Hawks game to Adelaide Oval this weekend just as the lockdown gets announced?

Because it’s not a lockdown and restrictions will most likely be lifted by Friday. They are playing games in Melbourne still this week

You have to ask, in this environment, WTF are players doing going to large events like the rugby? Surely the clubs would have ben advised to tell the players to avoid such events?

I know a couple of the Port boys have stopped their morning coffee runs to avoid exposure to the "outside" world.

Because it’s just pot luck ATM. As much chance of being quarantined visiting the local shops. Can’t stop players having a life. Dunkley from the Dogs now misses 2 games for grabbing a coffee 2 minutes from his house. We have seen in Adelaide overnight that 2 whole shopping centres are high risk sites and anyone who attended has to isolate including household members. Unless you are going to put all players and family into a hub this shit is going to continue

Given there were no cases back in the middle of June when the lads attended the swimming compared to outbreaks all over the east coast right now I find it hard to compare the two.

I agree on that but I think also Victoria was fairly safe at the time of the Rugby with only a couple of cases and I think we might see more players end up missing in the future as exposure zones increase

Call it what you like, its a lockdown in everything but name. Played but with no crowds, VIC's restrictions aren't going away anytime soon. Even if our restrictions get lifted Friday they wont come into effect until Sunday / Monday based on the way they normally do things so no crowd at AO either. Leave it a week and there could be (f*** knows at this point). When all the clubs are loosing money because they aren't getting stadium revenue doesn't make a lot of sense.

Plenty of parts around the country are just cooked. Especially in Victoria, they have had enough of all of this.
