145 cases in NSW, 44 people in ICU, 1966 locally acquired cases.

1 case is SA, lockdown lifted.

Lockdowns don't work.

Zero cases in SA outside of directed quarantine.

The lockdown literally did nothing in this instance.

I'm not in the "lockdown's don't work" camp, but in our case the lockdown didn't do anything.
Every case was within directed quarantine.

Contact tracing prevented a wider spread in this instance, the lockdown didn't.

Gyms can now reopen but we have this magical figure of 1 person per 8sqm which has never been a thing until this press conference. We have had 2sqm, 4sqm and now 8.

Hard not to start siding with Daisy.......

But it looks as though footy will be back on, so you can go tackle each other for a couple of hours.

Not sure footy is back, interesting he made a point of saying they want to get teams back to 'training' and then 'eventually back to finishing off their comps'

The way he said that makes me think training will be allowed but games wont be......not that it makes any sense.

The first bout of post Covid footy training restrictions were 'no contact' training sessions. So that sort of makes sense to me. The games are far more concerning, not only for the kids but controlling and restricting the parent group(s).

I'm sick of WFH, and the kids have had enough of being cooped up in the house.
Agreed. My two kids had already had a fight by 9.30...

Definitely the girl. The boy talks a big game, but she would absolutely flog him if she wanted to.

The lockdown allows contact tracing to take place more effectively.

Sydney avoided lockdown and they're in all sorts, we suffer 7 days, hard, fast, we go back.

Funny how that works, at school last year the lad was in year 9 and was shooting hoops with his girlfriend up one end of the basketball court when their ball rolled up the other end where a group of year 12's were playing a half court game, one of them booted his ball out on to the oval.

Year 12 daughter seen it, walked over and demanded their ball, they give it to her and she boots it a mile into someone's backyard.

Now thats the sort of question we need asked at the press conference

We need to send a representative, infact we should send two.

Person 1 is either bertie, Jimbob or Trader. Person 2 is any one of us imbeciles for comic relief and to talk over the dick that always talks over the chick in the pressers.

Disagree.
All contact tracing occurred between those in directed quarantine.
There was no contact tracing required in the wider community.
Having the wider community in lockdown was never required, nor did it assist.

Clearly you're not listening.

We are saying the lockdown wasn't required, not that it doesn't work, huge difference.

Oh, and we haven't been saying that after the fact, we've been questioning if it was required all week.

Lockdowns should only be used once you get to a point where you have unknown source transfer of the virus.
While the spread is contained within known cases and close contacts, you should be sticking with directed quarantine of close contacts.
