Re: Season 2022 Player Movements
Let’s not forget that AFL recruits doesn’t always mean premiership success.
While there’s the odd exception, allot of the time ex afl listed players are just role players at SANFL level

Re: Season 2022 Player Movements
Good luck to South if they are able to find a sponsor who can offer a service value that is equal or even greater than the dollar value they sponsor. Same as the Eagles partnering with a job agency.DOC wrote:Every club can.Bag & Sledge wrote:If every club could allegedly offer Flinders University courses as a carrot they might all recruit players like South Adelaide?Dutchy wrote:Cop out IMO - e.g. Semaphore to Elizabeth is 30 mins, Glenelg to Noarlunga is 25 mins.Brodlach wrote:No disrespect intended but it probably easier to sell a player that living at Glenelg or Brighton and travel to Noarlunga is better than a home at Mawson Lakes or Parafield Gardens and travel to Elizabeth
South are doing an outstanding job in building their brand to new recruits, can't snap your fingers and make it happen, they have been working on it for a decade
I wish Centrals could find a sponsor that can provide new recruits rental property, much easier said than done giving the current climate but heck if they could we should pay them money rather then them sponsor us. It would be an investment in the footy department

Just to clarify this, as it would seem that the poster may be asserting and some people thinking that Flinders offer either a discount or free tuition as part of their sponsorship.Bag & Sledge wrote:If every club could allegedly offer Flinders University courses as a carrot they might all recruit players like South Adelaide?Dutchy wrote:Cop out IMO - e.g.

This is not the case.
We encourage all players to be earning or learning.

5 or 6 more that are league standard would be nice.

I THINK we've secured a young lad from NSW, medium size defender, great credentials, can't say anymore at the moment.TDJ44 wrote:Are we expecting any announcements soon?northerner wrote:Hopeful of between 3 and 5 signings in next couple of weeks. I think we will have a much stronger league side than the last few years.TDJ44 wrote:Hope not,if that's it we are going to struggle.southernbulldog wrote:Hearing apart from latest player that we may be getting we are done for recruiting
A gun full back,
a very well credentialled mid,
two big blokes who can play forward or ruck
and hopefully this new recruit, a defender/midfielder.
Just need to make sure we don't get big injuries.
Lots of good players in the reserves & U18's still as well.

Re: Season 2022 Player Movements
It would be about 2 to 5 less than the Club hoped for as of last week.TDJ44 wrote:Hope not,if that's it we are going to struggle.southernbulldog wrote:Hearing apart from latest player that we may be getting we are done for recruiting
They certainly have been trying.
Including a ruck. We wil be without a genuine ruck option if there are no further announcements.

A rebuilding season ahead at Prospect next season. Quite a lot of our senior list gone.

So those possible signings from 2 weeks ago are definitely not happening now.northerner wrote:It would be about 2 to 5 less than the Club hoped for as of last week.TDJ44 wrote:Hope not,if that's it we are going to struggle.southernbulldog wrote:Hearing apart from latest player that we may be getting we are done for recruiting

Re: Season 2022 Player Movements
No genuine ruckman is going to make it extremely hard to be competitive in the centre square to give our mids a chance of getting the ball.Obviously we are trying to get one and we need to make it an absolute priority by the looks of it .
