I feel like he will NEVER cement his spot in the team and will always be under pressure as he's just not consistent enough

Left field suggestion given Head looks a bit lost in the sub continent, would you bring Agar in for him, albeit Agar probably isn't much better than Labuschagne with the ball. From Green down move up one position especially given Carey looked good last innings against the spinners on the lower deck.....loves a sweep which tends to be fairly successful in the sub continent especially if you believe Matty Haydens theory.

It depends on whether you want t o put a band aid over a problem or do you want to repair the problem.
Trav has potentially 8-10 years left in him at the elite level, we will lose Warner and Khawaja soon enough and then Smith a couple of years after they depart, we need to build a batting line up around Marnus and Trav, one that is adaptable to all conditions, this is the lad's 5th test in Asia with scores of 0, 72, 14, 36, 8, 23 & 26, let him develop his skill set.

The thing is he is in a team of top order batters who are similar to each other, they are
Ussie/Blonde Don/Lab/WG allrounder
Those 4 build innings and value thier wickets
So the balance is Warner/Head/Carey and those guys have to play shots , otherwise the team has to declare on 500+ on day 3 of test matches
Head's mindset should be'
Not to be a clone of the 4 above mentioned but to be more like Hookesy, and Boof

Ashwin and Jadeja are going to make Head look silly though. I just can't think of anyone to replace him with though.

There has to be some bat in the shield that plays spin well surely. Horses for courses selection

IF he actually still played first class cricket he'd be in and around the Australian test squad IMO. He hasn't played a first class match for Victoria since October 18-21 2019.Armchair expert wrote:whufc wrote:Armchair expert wrote:I am an Agar hater but there is no way he is anymore than a test no.8
