Bit sad I'm not working today as there will be some great banter going on today!
Time to fire up for the big GWS v Gold Coast game today which with a 4pm start gives us a few extra hours to dwell on the last game last night. :D

I assume Booney is catching up with Richo and Davies this morning for a debrief, I’m sure he’ll update us shortly with his thoughts on the game.

Oh, definately no violence! Maybe a heated game of pool and conflicting entries in the Punters Club! ;)

How about throwing beer coasters at each other from 10 meters, or a game of darts where you could wear one in the back of the melon while you are removing your arrows from the board?

The best thing about showdowns is one of the Adelaide teams has to lose!

Agreed, yet unfortunately and paradoxically one of the Adelaide team wins.

What I learned last night. Not that. The game.

Marshall keeps his spot as does Georgiades when Dixon comes back.
Lycett and O'Brien had a fantastic contest.
Is Dursma really not in Ports best 22?
Fogarty will not play this week.
McKenzie showed great courage and skill to mark under such pressure.
Sam Powell Pepper wastes too much energy trying to hurt (got his own teammates twice)
Boak playing as good as ever
Crows still sloppy by foot.
Crouch played his best game in years. No hospital handballs (long and flat whilst under heavy pressure) noticable
Keays tries his guts out and would be great to play with.
That the numerous predictions about how the season WILL unfold for both teams all forget that form is temporary and class is permanent. Add injuries, umpires and brain fades and anything could happen. Showdowns remind me of Port and Norwood through the ages. Anything can happen.

Watched the last 10 minutes. From what I saw, the Power played like a team that doesn't know how to win.

Respect to the bloke for being out on the paddock. I thought his season was done in round 1 with that awkward landing up at the Gabba.

They fact He has fronted up round 2-3 has been amazing.

It’s been amazing, or, as reported, he jarred his knee with no structural damage so he recovered to play.

Courageous mark, no extra points for being out on the paddock.

McKenzie took 2 of those marks, both gutsy and well executed. Pity some of his mates didnt show the same grit when it counted.

Port had plenty of chances to wrap it up earlier.
Boak had a set shot that should be bread and butter for a bloke of his quality but not for the first team he has sprayed it at a important time. Port missed far too many getable goals and I’ve noticed a trend over the last few years that set shots are actually appearing to getting worse. Now this might not actually be the case as I haven’t seen stats but it just appears many players can simply not kick a set shot from 40m out straight in front
