McLaren are a very good side, and will win it. They have been the best side all year, with really only Strath and Victor getting close to them being 16 & 13 points , while Encounter Bay had more scoring shots one match (the only team to do that) but lost by 6 goals.

Have heard Myponga might be in trouble with regard to Travel for Watkins from Darwin - Adelaide with virtually no flights 1 way being under $400 and they are required to pay both ways if he returned after each match? Rumour is Return flights were on or around $900 -$1000 which means his total payments at their fullest if they were paying him the max, would have gone into just getting into SA & home again. Seems unlikely someone would do that.

Hard to see McLaren getting beaten no matter what the weather conditions are.
McLaren havent put a foot wrong all year and should be cherry ripe to win their 2nd A Grade flag in Greath Southern after winning in 2003
Willunga havent had consistent enough form for my liking throughout the year to be a serious challenger although one might have thought the same in 2007 when they knocked off L Creek in the GF who were undefeated until then so it does happen tho it would be a surprising result

Weather looking pretty poor for Saturday which is disappointing. How is Goolwa Oval looking? Wouldn't have had much footy played on it in the last few weeks.

Willunga need to be at their top shelf best to. knock of Mclaren, maybe the rain might bring them closer
Zero traffic on the oval. Should hold up till the A Grade no worries

Will car parking be an issue at Goolwa?

Is the interest there in the GSFL like it was 15-20 yrs ago ?

I haven’t been to a GF for 8 yrs but it’s seem to have lost a bit of hype

GSFL always do this well. Make the ground look the highest standard with high quality markings!

I think the hype is probably as much as bygone eras

It's like everything, as we get older we always think things were Bigger, Bolder and Better back in the day and probably dont get as excited about Big events as we once did ?

Was there really more hype back 15 - 20 years ago when Willunga were dominating the comp on the way to 6 flags in a row or 30 years ago when Victor did the same ? Im thinking probably not.

Compare that to say the SANFL were the Hype of Grand Finals and the Magarey Medal etc have obviously taken a huge hit in interest for obvious reasons but i think the GSFL and most country footy leagues are still as relevant to the general country folk as they once were.

Nairne-Bremer Footy Club have done an outstanding job to get their oval ready for hosting their Hills Div 1 footy GF too.

The hype level is still the same I think but it would always be better if you have more clubs regularly involved on the day. I think those days are certainly a thing of the past as associations, I believe fall further into the 'haves' and 'haves not' of time, people, energy and resources to have a successful club.

Was going to say it looks like they've got the same person to paint both ovals for the HFL and GSFL grand finals. Both look great

Not important but do you not play 6,6,6 in this comp.

Just watched a bit of the game and noticed only one to two players at most were outside of the forward 50 at centre bounces, and even then they were only a metre outside of 50 arc. Was hard to tell whether there was no 6,6,6 or there was 6,6,6 but umpires were not enforcing it.

Neither the ADFL nor the last kick / touch rule

Heard there are a heap of players finishing up at Mclaren and Willunga. Will be interesting to see signings over the next month or so.

Anyone heard any news yet?

Heard a couple of SANFL clubs after Scott from Willunga and South are confident of getting Mitton back there. He should given how good he is.

GSFL play a last possession rule. Must be a clear kick or handball, although some under pressure handballs and kicks off the ground were ignored in many games all year.
