This is embarrassing even for the redbacks.

When will the selectors learn that Lehmann isn’t up to this level of cricket.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

He's the captain.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

He’s certainly leading from the front.

How does someone who was almost last into the side be made captain?

Surely Weatherald or even Doggett can have the ‘C ‘ next to their name.

Manenti to the rescue again. He has the Neil Dansie Medal for best player this season wrapped up already and not even Summer yet

Considering McAndrew won it last year in his first season, would say they have been good recruits, or the rest of them are just plain useless, probably the latter

It was apparently extremely critical of him, hence why SACA won’t release it. What a disgrace they are able to get away with that.

Easy to blame too many Grade clubs, even though we have less than Tassie

I was accidentally listening to KG yesterday morning and he was calling for the report to be released in full, he said he has seen the whole thing.

Is there any stats from the 2nd XI competition? It would be interesting to see how our players and the team have gone in this competition over the last few years or even decade.

With Head and Carey playing for Australia we have done well in that regard. Head, despite the criticism, might end up being our most successful Test batsman since the Chappells.

Unfortunately there seems to be a big gap between the quality of Head and Carey and the rest. Those we've invested a lot of matches in to haven't translated into consistent performers (Weatherald/Lehmann and before that Cooper) and we've given limited opportunity to a number of others over the years. We miss Ferguson, but should've developed someone else to similar standard by now. We also haven't recruited a player of the ilk of Hughes or Klinger and instead gone with players that haven't been able to break in to their State team in other states. I think we should have offered an offer too good to refuse to someone like Matt Renshaw and then built around him with players who have been consistent performers in Premier and 2nd XI cricket.

The bowling is a work in progress. Sayers, Mennie, Worrall were a good group and that is rebuilding. Our spinners seem to come in young, but then drift out of the game. You'd expect a spinner to be a bit like a batsman and be better at 28 than at 21. Are there 30 year olds at Premier Cricket level who are performing well, that might be better now than they were when they got an opportunity at 21? Do you add a couple of them to the side if in form?

We've had a generation or two of the most talented English cricketers come through the Darren Lehmann Academy, play Premier Cricket, and I don't think we've enticed one back with a Redbacks contract.

One of the best cricket minds, in Darren Lehmann, hasn't been utilised in our set up since his retirement as a player (I don't think).

I also don't think the coaches we've had have been too bad, including Gillespie.

I guess we just keep trying.

I would say Head and Carey top end talent is far far better than anyone else we have but both very easily slip back to redback standards far to often.
