Perhaps the player point system requires a review if not a complete overhaul. As a side note and of interest Porties finished sixth in those four grades.
Or look at it the other way, all 9 clubs have at least two teams playing finals across all grades.

More significantly if you look closer, the 4 teams not in the senior finals all have junior Saturday teams in finals, two of those clubs minor premiers and another with a 2nd and a 3rd.

Not that strange
The SFL has stabilised over a number of years and had a vacancy. Their other option was to go through with relegation into the Country div that has half a junior program and a lop-sided senior comp.

Hills Div 1 - Handorf going for 7th flag in 9 years
SFL - Flaggies going for 7th flag in 8 years
Hills Country - Gumeracha going for first club to go back to back since 2009. Meadows win and that’s 6 different premiers in the last 8 years.

Which senior comp is lopsided? Fair point on the junior comps though.

My mail was the female club delegates wanted the grand finals at South Adelaide. Association wasn’t particularly supportive but it’s what the clubs wanted. 100% agree the atmosphere at a local club compared to the baron expanse of South Adelaide is astronomical.

I believe they have to have a full suite of juniors for submission to the SFL.

A lot of Ironbanks juniors that played this year are from Bridgewater so don't know if they'd make the trek to play in the SFL. Then again maybe they are able to recruit more of their own kids with the move to a new league

Will they be setting up the mini goals posts? Might be a nil all draw if not..

Does the SFL still have to vote to accept them or is it done

Think you will find quite a few of the A grade have recommitted and when the ‘new coach’ is announced the rest will fall in to place quite quickly. Exciting times for the club. :D

Special General Meeting - Last Night
We had a strong turn out with around 70 in attendance to the Special General Meeting in regard to applying to enter the Southern Football League.
A Presentation was put to the Members and a time for questions. There was plenty of discussion and the overall 'vibe' of the meeting was very good.
A secret ballot was had and there was an 89% vote FOR the motion to apply to play in the Southern Football League in the 2024 season.
So apply we will. There is still plenty of water to go under the bridge with decisions to be made by the SFL board, its Clubs and the SANFL. Thank you to all who turned up and for those who take an interest in our Football Club.
It must be said that while our opposition may change, our home at Cherry Gardens/Ironbank and all activities associated with our Club will not change.
And regardless of what has transpired this year, we still welcome any Bridgewater Raiders FC members and players to our Club and hope that all Juniors will still consider the IronRaiders a viable pathway to Senior Football.

Flaggstaff in 17.5s, B's and A's finals. Any chance they win all 3? Sauce not winning the medal was a surprise, the Advertiser painted it as a foregone conclusion.

If by huge you mean tall, then I'll pay that.

If by huge you mean impact, well, what a complete and utter failure that was!!!!

Back to the drawing board again, $hoe$. Perhaps try building a club from the ground up...
