The argument will be if Maynard deliberately lower the shoulder into Brayshaw or was he protecting himself? Who the hell knows and good luck to the AFL either way this goes!

I think the bigger issue for Brayshaw is how easily he was knocked out.

95kg coming down on the side of your head...hardly an easy knock out.

He’s had history with concussions as everyone knows.
Roll reversal……..If Brayshaw falls on Maynard Im not sure Maynard is being knocked out.
Unfortunately for Brayshaw he is similar to McCartin.

We all know how much the AFL love a negotiated outcome, it should be 0 or 3 weeks, but watch him get 1 week and be available for GF if they make it

My guess how all this plays out:

Gets one game suspension by MRO
Goes to Tribunal and loses
Appeals decision and loses
Final Appeals process and gets off and free to play

Similar to the Toby Bedford one. Agree with Damian Barrett, the system is totally flawed and is becoming a joke.

Raises an interesting defence for the tribunal.
Brayshaw is prone to getting knocked out.
Do the same thing to Jonathan Brown, Tony Lockett or Leigh Matthews and they just get up, punch Maynard in the head, and run off for the next play.

Roll reversal - Maynard gets up, starts shouting incessantly at Brayshaw, spit and froth flying everywhere (like a crab plucked from the shallows), gets in his face, feigns a couple of head-butts, the flog lands one of them, pleads to the umpire it was an accident, Murphy cries hysterically in the background as he watches on. Gets rubbed out for 3

I think there's alot if factors here that need to be considered because of what the AFL has built with MRP and tribunal and how these bodies apply the rules.

It did not look like there was much in it at all to start with. However the AFL will take note that Maynard's intention was to make contact with him.

I think that's fair to say. Also he didn't intend to knock him out or hit him high.

However, he did end up getting him high and he got knocked out.

So taking this all into consideration, I have absolutely no idea how this will play out.

Now Carlton started well with out nerves, think they win easily.
