How does everyone see the year finishing off?
Are balaklava doing their usual come good at the right time with a massive win against mallala?

It's clearly Two Wells' flag to lose after an extremely consistent season. Got an excellent swag of kids either in the side or waiting in the wings too so depth won't be an issue.
Who they play on GF day will be of interest as the next three sides are extremely close. The massive win against Mallala on the weekend was something to behold but you wouldn't expect to see that sort of margin against Mallala for another 20 years.

Best chance for the medal for each club:
Angle Vale: Lachy Mitchell
Balaklava: Lachy Michael
Hamley Bridge: Angus Judd
HWE: Ethan Kwaterski
Mallala: Kale Olds
Two Wells: Luke Barnett
United: Jarred Allmond
Virginia: NFI - Only saw one match this year

TOTY prediction onsong?

I might not have all the positions correct but here's something as a conversation starter I guess.

HF: X Bates (AV), J Goodfellow (AV), K Olds (M)

Is this legit and would the Roseworthy club be targeting APFL/APNA or BLGFA/BLGNA?!

Fair play it's a hell of a redevelopment in Roseworthy but trying to find 50+ footballers, 50+netballers, 50 junior footballers, 50 junior netballers is going to be a tough ask.

As far as facilities go the Barossa Rams Rugby Union Club (previously Roseworthy Rams) play one game a year out at Roseworthy Campus and the oval/changing facilities/canteen etc are fine....on par with the average amateur footy club.

Reckon its a bit of a pipe dream.

It has me completely confused as to how the APFL board in all their wisdom can sign off on a gurnsey (Angle Vale’s) when it clashes so much with so many other clubs!! Todays A and B grade games were a hard watch trying to pic the teams apart!! Hopefully Vigor and his band of hard working compatriots after watching today may have a little re think…… lol wishful thinking

Liam Whitwell is surely the coach of the year with what he has done with that group this year!

I reckon your prediction is closer to how it should have been. I think there needs to be a 12 game minimum rule or something along those lines as a few that were picked were by name and only played 8-10 games I believe.

Contributed very well when playing but was away for work a lot of the year and I believe he played on ball majority of the time?
Schinnick is another, played 9 games of regular season. He’s in the best 5 players of the comp but 9 games shouldn’t qualify for this sort of award and named starting on ball.
Just my thoughts for future years.
I believe 3 ruckman were picked. Thomson, olds in a FP and Michael bench

Congrats to all the teams playing in tomorrows Grand Final in both Football and Netball.

I’m tipping Angle Vale in both 14s and 17s, Balaklava to win in a close game in the Bs and I can’t see Two Wells dropping this game against Mallala and I reckon it’s gonna be all over by halftime! Wells by 40+ and Dylan Wise BoG

Good day at Virginia on Saturday, congratulations to all winners.

Interesting bit of argy bargy at the 4:20 mark of the third quarter in the reserves. I reckon a couple of blokes will have an extended holiday to start 2024.

Hopefully the bloke doesn’t get otstracised from the club. Would be a hard thing to go through in a small country town.

A young footy player has been banned from the Balaklava Football and Netball Club for three years following an incident involving drugs during grand final celebrations.

A letter sent out on September 24, by the club’s secretary Kerry Williams, informed members, families, players, life members and sponsors of the incident.

“It is with much regret that we write to inform you that the current Management and Operating Committees met this week to manage an allegation of player misconduct,” the letter reads.

“The incident occurred after the grand final celebrations on Sunday 17th September and has resulted in a player receiving a 3 year ban from the Balaklava Football and Netball Club for breaching the SANFL member protection policy.”

Club president Mark Heaslip told The Advertiser on Monday the incident involved a player and misconduct with drugs.

“Drugs are in the community but they don’t need to be in the change rooms,” he said.

Mr Heaslip said all committees involved made a unanimous decision to ban the player.

“It’s important for clubs to protect their junior players,” he said.

The club president said they wouldn’t be “pursuing any other direction” and had dealt directly with the player.

A SANFL spokeswoman said they were aware of the incident.

“SANFL was made aware of the misconduct and the sanctions handed down by the club,” he said.

The spokeswoman said the player would be able to join other clubs next season as the sanctions were handed down by the club.

Police and Adelaide Plains Football League have been contacted for comment.
