I'm looking forward to all the Warner haters chanting boring when his replacement is 24 off 130 balls

he's going to be talked out of retirement we cant cant go on as a cricketing nation without him in the side....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

And because we bowled them out in under 80 overs it doesn’t matter how many overs we bowl in the day as we don’t get punished at all

Thats absolute bulls5it, we should be fined our entire match payments, docked 2 WTC points and Captain Climate should get 2 matches.
What a joke, we were responsible for the slow over rate, should be made to bat the full 9 overs that were left.

Until the ICC fixes this Test cricket will continue to die, it needs drastic change.
4 day tests, every Test starts on a Friday except obviously Boxing Day. 100 or 110 over days, play until theyre bowled. The players will adjust with more entertaining cricket to get results and batsman arent as equipped to play a 5 day Test as they used to be.
Would make programming so much easier, a Test every week to fit into an ever increasing tighter schedule.

Who decided that 90 overs in a day was still realistic. Whilst there are unnecessary delays with drink carriers, glove changes etc. that should be more closely monitored. But DRS, large number of left handers and right-left batting combinations that cause change to fields and constant changes to over and around the wicket, much greater strategy from captains with changing fields during overs, more boundaries, and higher % of overs bowled by quicks in most countries are reasonable factors in the modern game that makes this chest beating about 15 over hours rather unrealistic. Test cricket was very much a bore fest when teams were achieving 90 overs in 6 hours and a lot easier for captains with teams batting at 2.0 to 2.5 runs an over and blokes bowling straight breaks and dibbly dobbly medium pace being able to hold up an end for decent length spells. Just make it a 6.5 hour day with re-calculation of a more achievable minimum overs.

agree Down Hill

5 DRS , a number of times the Paki were hit and the physio came out to check ... Remember early yesterday, Paki were complaining about a small gap in the white sheets next to the sightscreen....

Would you prefer 80 overs 10 wickets 300+ runs or 90 overs 4 wickets 240 runs

After years of thinking anything less than 90 overs in a day is inexcusable I have changed my mindset after piecemealing it.

Each session they need to bowl 30 overs (180 legal deliveries).
Minus a 3 minute drinks interval.
Minus 29 minutes as they would lose a minute in between each over for changeover.
This leaves 29 seconds per delivery without any additional interruptions.
With the bowlers run up commencing 70 metres away from the keeper for the majority of the day, are they destined to fail more often than not?

I beg to differ, unless you have 25+ overs of spin.

Teams don't have any real incentive to bowl 15 overs an hour... only panic on day 5 when they can get a result.
