How’s the wind over there?

Meant to get pretty breezy over the next few days

Not too bad currently, picking up later today. Just got back in from the boat, very calm out there this morning.

We will probably never know.

It was 58 years ago, and the alleged suspects are either dead or there is insufficient evidence to move forward with any charges.

Unfortunately, the Beaumont children disappearance in 1966, Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordon at Adelaide Oval in 1973, and the Family murders of the late 70’s and early 80’s will most likely never be solved, except of course for Von Einem for the murder of Richard Kelvin.

I know someone who was in court when further charges were attempted against Von Einem after he was convicted of the Kelvin murder, and the details were appallingly horrific. I’m not in favour of the death penalty but I’d almost make an exception for this animal.

There are other cases that will never be solved like the murder of George Duncan in the Torrens in 1972.

There was so much horrible shit going on for a couple of decades and there have been plenty of conspiracies on what may or may not have happened and how many of these cases were linked. Allegations of high profile people involved, lawyers, doctors, police, etc , etc.

Imagine how the families of all these victims have suffered all these years.

Mark Langley (one of the victims of the Family murders) lived across the road from my (now) wife. They moved out after his disappearance.

The innocence in 1966 when society was OK with parents allowing their very young children to travel unaccompanied was well and truly shattered by these events … we can never go back.

My Dad was questioned in relation to this... someone made an anonymous call to the police and mentioned him. No idea why, someone had it in for him. Clearly not involved and nowhere near the area at the time.

edit: Sorry meant to say Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordon abduction not the Beaumont children.

Thats shocking!

Knew Mr.Beaumont, he was customer of ours at Glenelg and would come into shop every day. Lovely old man, very quiet. Sadly died not knowing whatever happened to those poor kids :(

No unfortunately very sad story that one, was was only a young teen the day that happened and selling ice creams etc as a walk around seller that day at Adelaide Oval, crapped myself when heard about it and even more so when a Detective knocked on our door a few days later wanting to know if i had seen them or anything at all at the oval that day
