Admittedly I didn't pay much attention to the game as I was out, did they win or did Port lose?

It's frustrating being a Port supporter but geez it must be hard being a Bomber supporter, the difference between their best and worse is on par with ours.

Honestly, I think it’s a tad disingenuous to say that Port lost it. The Bombers butchered the goals for most of the match and Port started to play it safe in the 3rd quarter, whilst the Bombers decided to take risks and run, run, run.

Port had plenty of time to snatch it back when the Bombers hit the front in the last, but they were spent and couldn’t stop Essendon’s run.

The Bombers have a long, long way to go, but results like that, especially after last week’s drubbing, can only help.

Not one for the highlights reel, although there were a couple of very good goals in the last quarter, JHF was one (don’t know where his head is atm).

Shit to watch for 3, last was much, much better.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

I’m not going to sink the boots in, will make no difference

However I did say after losing to Collingwood that you’d thrash Richmond which would wallpaper the cracks. All week I heard Port were back, I was proven correct (for a change).

“I’m not using injuries as an excuse”
and then proceeds to rattle off 5 players who are missing.

Yeah, not as if we haven’t got any injuries either

I’m surprised tredders can count to 5

Tredders was 100% correct with his statements for years with Port Adelaide, he has toned down the criticism over the last 2 years however tonight was dead set embarrassing. Port Adelaide have been inconsistent for over a decade and when it REALLY matters they lose crucial games. They spent the entire minor round of 2020 on top of the premiership ladder and failed to make a GF - In fairness it deserves a reprieve with covid. The following 2 years they went down hill gradually and Hinkley should have been booted. What an absolute complete waste of talent.

For the record my club is rubbish.

I would say Tredders would have got a fair clip internally after speaking out mid-season last year. I don't doubt behind the scenes he wouldn't be quiet. I mean, you can't have a board member publicly critiscing anyone or anything to do with the club

Thought the commentators got it right when they said Port went into their shells and just played too defensively.

Not sure why but from half time on they just wanted to play wide and down the flank, no switch of plays, no inboard kicks, no blokes looking for handball receives It then become a forgone conclusion when the wide / slow play resulted in the only lead up kick being Cochrane in his debut.

As a Port fan that would have to be the hardest part trying to digest the result......they just never took the game on at the end. Instead Essendon had El Halwi breaking lines. Had Reid, Bryan, Redman switching the play to blokes like Duursma on the other side, which then enabled Caddy to utilise a fat side inside 50.

Number times I heard the first round was a once off, unfair because Collingwood had played a game before and we will win our next three was countless.

I only watched first half.
It seemed Bombers butchered their chances and Port made them pay.
Perhaps some complacency from Port players after seeing the Bombers completely dismantled last week. Same as Geelong v St kilda week before.
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!
