Port Adelaide Football Club has initiated a formal governance review regarding concerns raised about recent public content published by member elected Club Director, Warren Tredrea.

The club has commenced this review under its governance framework to address this in accordance with AFL and PAFC policies, rules and procedures, including its Code of Conduct Policy, which club officials need to comply with.

Port Adelaide Chairman David Koch said the club maintains comprehensive governance standards that apply to all Directors and club officials.

“Directors and officials of the club are entitled to their personal views, however there are concerns that recent content published is in breach of these standards.

"The club is committed to upholding the professional standards our members, partners and the community expect and deserve.”

Mr Tredrea will retain his place on the Board until a determination has been made.

No further comment will be made whilst this process is undertaken.

Reading a statement from Warren on his facebook, i think there might be some defamation cases in bound.
Do 5AA hosts lose their job when they interview Dave from Alberton and he says something inflammatory? :D

I wish to make clarification to the media coverage regarding my interview with Mr. AJ Roberts on my podcast, the Ballsy Show (May 20, 2025).

I started this podcast series as a result of some personal and professional developments in my life over the last few years – private matters which have played out in a public forum. Those matters have made me sceptical, and even cynical, about big government, big business and big media.

In an effort to work my way through this, I have found myself attracted to people who have taken a similar life path, and have taken a similar view to these big organisations.

I have been curious to talk to these people in a public forum about uncomfortable issues, some, but not all, of which have played significant roles in the shaping of my view of the world in the past few years.

The purpose of my podcast has been not to shine a light on my own personal views and opinions, but rather to provide a platform for others to present their views and opinions in an unfiltered forum. I understand some of these may be uncomfortable for some to listen to.

It’s why I tag my social media posts publicising each episode as, “Unfiltered. Unapologetic. Ballsy … Disclaimer. For entertainment only. Views are guests’ own. Not professional advice.”

I was attracted to interviewing Mr. Roberts because he was a veteran who has fought for his country, seen ugly things in battle, and now is sceptical of the government he fought in the name of. Over the last few years, I have found many veterans who share similar scepticism about their governments following service for their country.

Let me make it abundantly clear. I unequivocally condemn war and genocide, and seek only to share other perspectives of what has been a very one way reported narrative in the mainstream media. I am not in any way, shape, or form, an antisemite, and consider it defamatory for anyone to accuse me as such.

As someone who always aims to do the moral and good thing even when it’s hard, my ultimate goal is to create unity and cohesion whilst pursuing a fair go for all.

Regards
Warren Tredrea

Oh dear.

Most reputable media outlets will limit the bounds of ‘outside’ speech to some extent, and will either cut off the ‘inflammatory’ speaker/guest or make it clear that their comments don’t reflect the views of that particular media outlet, etc. It seems that he has now has belatedly tried to do that somewhat (but failed), but with a defamatory warning, so according to him, free speech is only one-way.

If he wants to work in certain industries he’ll need to abide by the norms that are usually associated with them.

No-one is shutting down his right to free speech, he can say whatever he wants in court or on his social media and podcast, as long as he doesn’t violate any Laws.

Only way he'll make money / gold coins will soon be via court action and his recent record in doing that isn't sound.
